All rooms are smoke free and include a TV, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a coffeemaker, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and individual climate control. Select rooms also include a sofabed, while one room at this hotel has a jetted tub.
While this hotel does not have an elevator, two wheelchair-accessible rooms are available on the first floor. Pets are permitted in select rooms at no additional fee.
Many downtown Halifax attractions are within a 10- to 15-minute drive, including the Halifax Metro Centre, Casino Nova Scotia, the Halifax Harbour waterfront boardwalk, the Halifax Citadel historic fort and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.

Many guests described their rooms as basically furnished, but clean. A couple of guests added that the rooms were generally comfortable. However, there some concerns about the condition of the guest rooms (see below for more details).
The staff were frequently complimented for their friendly service, as well as for their attempts to resolve guest issues. However, some other reviewers were unhappy with the customer service they received (see below).
Although this is a smoke-free hotel, several guests noticed an unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke in the rooms and halls.

"Days Inn Stay"
"Overall, the hotel is a good value. I would suggest larger TV's in the rooms (I believe the current size is 32"). I would also suggest having additional options for the included breakfast. When we stayed the only option was scrambled eggs and bacon. For me, I would rather a continental breakfast with more options than a hot breakfast. For instance, my kids would rather have cereal or waffles for breakfast instead of eggs and bacon."

"Ants, Desk unresponsive to noise, slow restaurant service"
"1. The rooms seemed pleasant but a group arrived around midnight & apparently wished to change some of their rooms. We were awakened by very loud talking & general noise in the hallway right outside our room. Phoned to tell the Desk who explained that "yes, it will be over with soon; they want to move rooms and a desk clerk is there with them. Right after this, people were having a very loud conversation outside my door & I opened the door to find the desk clerk who said "sorry, we'll try to talk quieter" but did not move away from my door. The noise did not stop until about 1:30. The Desk staff did Nothing! 2. In the morning, we discovered ANTS in one of the rooms & mentioned to desk at checkout as I thought they would want to take care of this. She didn't seem at all surprised or concerned, which made me wonder if they already knew about the ants. 3. We went in to get the complimentary hot breakfast but it took so long to even get the waitress to take our order that we had to leave to get to our morning's appoinment. We had left ample time for breakfast. It is NOT a complimentary breakfast if you cannot get served!"

"The hand basin was cracked around the drain area and a haven for bacteria.......this should have been replaced when it happened.Attention to detail in the hospitality industry is critical as you well know."
