"Yellowknife Inn - okay"
"Unable to access underground parking from hotel (had to walk 1 1/2 blocks in -29C to get my car). Otherwise, staff was helpful, somewhat knowledgeable and bed was comfortable. Hotel could do with some upgrades to building (new carpets, new paint, rusted drain in bathroom, need luggage rack) but seemed clean. Attached to local mall, no need to go outside to shop."

"This was the third time in three years I have stayed at this hotel - each time hoping the next time would be better - NOT SO. This hotel is poorly run and looks and feels very old and tired! I have had very frustrating stays the past two times requiring multiple trips back down to the front desk. Both times I would have expected some sort of offer for a discount or partial refund but it was never offered. I would be curious as to other guests comments.
Perhaps you can have the manager or owner contact me for the specifics of my issues as it may be helpful to them in the future.

"Yes, I needed to change rooms 4 times before finding one that was acceptable. Not a good experience (although the front desk lady was exceptionally nice).
I most likely will not stay there again unless I have some assurances that things are going to improve.

"The room was NOT as advertised. It was not renovated. There may be newer rooms that have been renovated but mine wasn't. There was no internet access as advertised.
There was an upside though. In a casual conversation with James (maintenance?) I mentioned that my bed was very sub-standard. This was at 6 p.m. and he went the extra mile to change out the bed with a new one. He should be commended for his excellent customer service."
