The Good
Guests generally found this hotel to provide a decent and friendly place to stay and it seemed that the central downtown location and restaurant were the best features of the hotel.

Guests said the owner was friendly and helpful. He provided guests with information about the town and local bus, and had city maps and visitors' guides handy. He was even willing to lend the use of his tripod for filming auroras.

Guests found the rooms to be well equipped with mini-fridges, coffeemakers and air conditioning and some reviewers were comfortable at the hotel.

Location was a big plus, close to groceries, restaurants and the Old Town area, plus the inn was easy to find.

Guests were divided about value, although it was clear that it was cheaper than the competition in town.

Online reviews for the restaurant were highly positive. They were pleased with the portions, prices and quality of the food offered. One reviewer put it well, "The daily buffets are a good deal and serve a nice mix of Chinese and Western food."

The Bad
The property is older and has no elevator to its second and third floor. Some guests were surprised to discover this and found it inconvenient to carry heavy luggage upstairs, although some did say that the staff were willing to assist.

Others were bothered by the older condition of the hotel and complained of smelling smoke on their non-smoking floor. Some complained as well of poorly cleaned bathrooms that had a build-up of grime in the corners, stained ceilings, creaky beds, broken bathroom fixtures, threadbare towels and noisy AC units.

Many griped about having to pay extra for Wi-Fi in the room, although some said it was available at the computer in the lobby. Overall the Wi-Fi was very poorly rated.
