Rooms are furnished with 1 or 2 queen beds or 1 king bed. The hotel fared quite well in the reviews, with guests having good stays overall.
Guests typically liked the rooms. They described them as clean and upgraded with new bedding and bathroom fixtures. Guests especially liked the showers and the modern feel of the rooms. Others reported comfortable beds and quiet rooms.
Guests enjoyed their interactions with staff. They were found to be polite, courteous, helpful, quick, efficient and friendly for the most part.
Overall guests rated the Wi-Fi as very good, although some did experience slowness on occasion.
The restaurant fared well for the most part in the reviews. Guests reported reasonably-priced breakfasts with good quality and variety in a sunny and comfortable setting, and some well-liked Newfoundland specialties for other meals.
Guests found the location convenient to shopping, the Avalon Mall, the highway and the airport. Some liked that it was not in the downtown district.
Other positive points included: ample parking, reasonable room and restaurant prices, free airport shuttle, guests were shuttled to a concert and were thrilled about the service the hotel provided.
Although many guests seemed happy with their stays, there were a few common threads in the complaints section.
A few guests complained about the elevator. Some guests called it old and worn, with an unsafe feel and making creaking and banging noises.
Some guests felt the hotel was somewhat dated overall and needed updates. Some mentioned the lobby and exterior as looking rather old with stairs garbage and lawn area needing some work. Some guests felt the hallways were dated looking and needed fresh paint and carpets replaced. More than one guest felt the carpet in their room needed replacing.
Occasionally guests complained of unfriendly front desk personnel who were described as curt.
Some had minor irritations during their stays: no decaf coffee for the Keurig, shampoo not replenished, maid walking in unexpectedly, smokers allowed to congregate at the doorways where families had to pass, and noisy hallways with doors banging.
