As mentioned above, most of the reviews used for this analysis were positive. However, there were some negative comments regarding the oldness of the property, some of the decor, and areas that needed fixing or deeper cleaning.more
The property is older and the exterior is weathered and aged, according to some guests. In addition, although the hotel is making updates, guests who were given older rooms or saw areas of the hotel that were quite dated or in need of renovation were sometimes turned off altogether.
There were areas that felt quite dirty to some including stained flooring, carpeting and furniture. Sometimes odours bothered guests who complained of musty odours, and rooms near the pool being too humid, hot, muggy and smelling of chlorine. One guest said his bedding smelled unpleasantly of chlorine. Other complaints included dust bunnies and improperly cleaned rooms. Some guests objected to the astro turf surrounding the indoor pool as it either was, or felt dirty to them.
Some guests cited maintenance issues including: broken tiles, stained sink, leaky faucet, malfunctioning shower head and worn caulking in a bathroom, exterior sidewalks in need of repair, air conditioners that needed replacement, plus tilted and broken concrete stairs leading to the rooms.
Some guests complained of noise disturbance which sometimes caused a lack of sleep. Traffic, noisy AC units and guests in nearby rooms were the source of the problem for these guests who also said the walls were paper thin.
Several guests were not that impressed with the free breakfast which appeared of poor quality to them and was served in an unappetizing basement-like room.
