OverviewThe Rodd Park House Inn is located on the south side of Main Street and just to the west of King Street in downtown Moncton, New Brunswick.
Facilities at the 100% non-smoking hotel include an outdoor heated pool (seasonal), a patio, free parking, a business centre, and meeting facilities.
There are some travel sites that claim that the hotel has a restaurant as an amenity however in speaking with a Front Desk Agent at the property, we learned that the hotel does not actually have a restaurant on site. The property does, however, have a breakfast room that serves a complimentary continental breakfast every day from 7am to 10am.
The three-story property has 97 guest rooms and amenities include free wireless Internet, free local calls, hair dryers, coffee makers, 25” cable televisions, in-room movies, and air conditioning.
Our staff also learned from the hotel that the property is going through some renovations at the moment. The agent we spoke to was not 100% certain as to the end date but a fair estimation may be June 2012.
The VIA Rail station is 1.7km to the west of the hotel and Crystal Palace Amusement Park is 1.2km northeast (distances - Google Maps).
Check in time at this hotel is at 3pm and check out time is at 11am.

The GoodGuests that stayed at the Rodd Park House Inn generally seemed to enjoy their stays. Guests typically thought highly of the staff, the location, and the hotel’s breakfast.
Guests that described the staff often said that they were “friendly.” Multiple guests also said that the service was “good” or “superior” and off-setting complaints were only very occasional.
The location of the hotel was well-liked for several different reasons. Many guests indicated that they liked being near downtown Moncton and some guests indicated that there was shopping in the area. Some guests also mentioned that there were restaurants nearby.
The breakfast at the hotel was typically called “good” or “very good” and many guests indicated that they liked the selection. One guest, for example, said it had “all the usual continental items, plus fresh fruit, scrambled eggs,” and “sausage.” Another guest said that the “breakfast in the morning offered everything” that he/she would have expected “and more.”
There was some balance of opinion on the price of the room rates however guests that mentioned their opinion on this perspective typically seemed satisfied. Some guests mentioned that parking was included in their rates and seemed appreciative of that.
Occasionally guests mentioned the beds at the hotel and they were described as comfortable.
The Bad
Complaints about the Rodd Park House Inn were fairly uncommon however one of the major complaints had to do with the perceived age of the hotel. Given that the property is currently going through renovations, many of those complaints may have lost their insight, something that depends on how the renovations go.
But there were some complaints that had nothing to do with the renovations or the condition of the hotel.Some guests were disappointed with the hotel’s facilities. A couple guests mentioned that the hotel had no indoor pool. Although there was an outdoor pool, that amenity didn’t benefit guests in the winter. Also, multiple guests mentioned that there was no restaurant on site.
Occasionally a guest complained about noise at the hotel and one side of the property received some negative attention. One guest, for example, issued the following warning: “never get a room that faces the street, it’s beyond noisy.”
Expedia.ca guest ratings averaged to 3.4 points out of 5 and 61% of guests recommended the property. TripAdvisor.com ranked the hotel 19th of 27 hotels in Moncton and the site had 50 reviews. Priceline.com guest ratings averaged to 7.4 points out of 10 and the hotel ranked 5th of 22 properties.
