Several guests were pleased with the level of customer service they received at this hotel. They characterized the staff as friendly, efficient, helpful and professional, and specifically complimented the front-desk employees.
The hotel was said to offer good value, according to some reviewers. It was described as "affordable accommodation", and "less expensive than other hotels nearby". The included breakfast was also mentioned as adding to the hotel's value.
A few guests mentioned the location as being a strong-point of the hotel. They mentioned its close proximity to the highway, shops, and food options, and also pointed out that buses going to go the Coliseum stopped in front of the hotel.
The Bad
While this hotel received some positive comments among the reviews consulted for this analysis, most of the reviews were negative and focused primarily on the hotel's rooms and noise transfer.
Many guests were disappointed by their accommodations at this hotel. They described their rooms as unclean and rundown, with dated decor. Examples given included hair on the sheets and in the bathroom, broken baseboards, stained carpets, and musty odours. The bathrooms were described as small, with old shower curtains and mould. There were also reports of earwigs in the rooms by several guests. It should be noted however, that some guests found their rooms to be clean and were satisfied with their accommodations.
Noise transfer was a source of complaints for some guests staying at the Econo Lodge. They reported hearing noise from neighbours in adjacent rooms, as well as from boisterous guests at the pool area and at the restaurant next door.
