Overview
Located on Main Street (just east of Highway 15) and roughly 4 minutes from Moncton's City Centre, the Econo Lodge Moncton is popular with tourists travelling by car who require an economical and easily accessible hotel near the highway and close to downtown Moncton.

This hotel has 67 air-conditioned guest rooms and suites, all of which offer free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a coffeemaker, a hair dryer, and an iron/ironing board. Standard rooms offer one or two double or queen beds, while suites offer one king or queen bed and a 2-person jetted tub. Hotel amenities include a seasonal outdoor pool, a 30-person meeting room, and fax and photocopying services.

This hotel is not wheelchair accessible, parking is free, and pets are permitted for a fee of $20 per pet per stay. The Good

While most of the reviews consulted for this analysis were negative, there were a few common compliments among them about the hotel's staff, value and location.

Several guests were pleased with the level of customer service they received at this hotel. They characterized the staff as friendly, efficient, helpful and professional, and specifically complimented the front-desk employees.

The hotel was said to offer good value, according to some reviewers. It was described as "affordable accommodation", and "less expensive than other hotels nearby". The included breakfast was also mentioned as adding to the hotel's value.

A few guests mentioned the location as being a strong-point of the hotel. They mentioned its close proximity to the highway, shops, and food options, and also pointed out that buses going to go the Coliseum stopped in front of the hotel.

The Bad

Many guests were disappointed by their accommodations at this hotel. They described their rooms as unclean and rundown, with dated decor. Examples given included hair on the sheets and in the bathroom, broken baseboards, stained carpets, and musty odours. The bathrooms were described as small, with old shower curtains and mould. There were also reports of earwigs in the rooms by several guests. It should be noted however, that some guests found their rooms to be clean and were satisfied with their accommodations.

Noise transfer was a source of complaints for some guests staying at the Econo Lodge. They reported hearing noise from neighbours in adjacent rooms, as well as from boisterous guests at the pool area and at the restaurant next door.

"Disgusting on a huge level"
"This hotel is absoblutly disgusting. I took pictures of the room I was in there was done hair on the floor and beds, it was moldy in the bathroom, it stunk like wet dog. I even asked the people who were with me to check under the bed to see if the dog was still there it was that bad. It was a smoking room which I did not ask for. I would not reccommend a blind person who couldn't smell to stay in this room. Econo Lodge Moncton do not go If you do, do not stay in room 106. Scary to say the least."
