The Good
The majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, and reviewers offered much praise to the hotel's breakfast, staff and value.

Numerous reviewers were pleased with the hotel's free breakfast, and described it as fantastic and exceptional, with a good selection of hot and cold items. One patron remarked that the breakfast was plentiful and well laid out and that the breakfast area was very clean.

The hotel's staff were the source of many guest compliments. They were found to be friendly and helpful in offering directions, as well as bilingual and professional.

Several lodgers praised the hotel's value, describing the rates as excellent and reasonable. A few reviewers found the hotel was excellent for what they paid, and some cited the free breakfast as adding to the hotel's overall worth.

The hotel's accommodations were also praised by several guests, who described their rooms as clean, modern, well equipped and nicely decorated, with comfortable beds. A few guests had complaints about their rooms, however (see below).

In addition, several guests liked how accessible this property is to and from the highway, but a few reviewers felt that it was a bit remote (see below for more details).
The Bad
While the majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were a few common complaints about noise transfer, the hotel's location and the rooms.

Some guests complained of noise disturbances. They reported noisy in-room heating units, as well as noise from a wedding reception and guests overhead and in adjacent rooms. Traffic noise was also reported in rooms at the back of the hotel, which faces the highway.

While the majority of reviewers praised the hotel's accessibility to and from the highway, a few lodgers had complaints about the location. They found it to be a bit far from the downtown area, restaurants and shops.

Although several guests were pleased with their clean and comfortable accommodations, a few reviewers reported dated decor and worn furniture in their rooms.

"Perfect for the traveller."

"The location is close the Trans Canada Highway...jump off, wash, go to bed, wake up, eat, jump back on. Very efficient. The staff are all on the same page. Knowledgable, helpful and always polite. I cannot think of any ways to improve the service or the facilities. Thank you."

"Bathtub was plugged and backing up. While showering water puddled at feet. When water finally drained out of tub you could see debris. Bath towels were stained. Sheets and pillow cased were stained with what looked to be blood. There was also hair in the bed. Not so sure if bed had been cleaned. Not a great rest after a 13 hour drive. Very dissapointed."

"Overnight stay"

"I had the pleasure of staying at Days Inn in Edmundson on two different nights. The staff were very professional and polite. The rooms were cozy and comfortable and had a variety of items that one might forget on their travel. The service was great and breakfast was plentiful with a nice variety and the view from the hotel was beautiful. They also provided guests with a map of Edmondson to roam around town!"

"Great location, bad beds"

"The location was great, rooms clean, great service, unfortunately would not stay again, the beds were like sleeping on a slab of cement and with a 12 hour drive ahead of us, did not get much sleep."

"Clean, helpful staff, near to TCH, away from restaurants"

"The walk out rooms were very convenient. The proximity of the hotel to restaurants could be better since it is located well away from the core of Edmunstun."

"Easy off, Easy on, Clean but be careful what you get"

"We reserved a room with 2 queen beds-AND I called the day before to re-confirm it--and I was told they would hold that room as we were arriving late. However when we arrived there was only a 'family room' with 2 doubles and a single--NOT what we had reserved"

"This was a road one night stop on are way to our destination. From the moment you walk through the front door, you feel at home. Customer service was excellent. They provided directions on how to get to attractions, shopping etc. They provide a B&B type breakfast and at anytime breavages ie: coffee, tea and juices etc. are available at no cost. It is clean hotel and room service and parking is very good. This is why we booked our one night stop on our way back. It is so convenient to get back on the road."

10 out of 10 | Kristi stayed September 27, 2009

"This hotel went above and beyond to make sure that my husband and I were comfortable. We were travelling home from Ontario and called to make a reservation as we had orginally planned on driving straight to NS, we were ten minutes away when we called and our room was ready for us by the time we got there. It is very easy to find as it is directly off the highway and the rooms were very clean with a nice homey feeling. The free contential breakfast in the morning was great as it starts at 6:00am including coffee, tea, juice, milk, cereal, toast, english muffins, bagels, fresh fruit and eggs. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to someone else as well as stay at this hotel if in that area again."

"Everything was reasonable, however in all my travels it was the first time the room wasn't ready at check in. We were given another room. Will no doubt stay there again. The staff were really friendly."

"About the breakfast: I have never seen so many kinds of cereals and breads available. Something to please everyone. I was impressed. Bravo! The breakfast room was cleaned and well taken care off. However, the window between the office and the room and also the mirror in the entrance needed to be cleaned. It is just a detail but it caught my attention. Sincerely, Anne Clment"

"This hotel was just a stop enroute to PEI & was so great, that we booked it for the return overnight portion home. They upgraded us for a family of 5 to a larger room with an extra bed. Bonus was that they allow dogs! The beds were so comfortable & the breakfast was fantastic! All the hotel personnal were wonderful & so friendly! We will definitely stay there again instead of the very rough Travel Lodge we usually stay at in St. Antoinne."

"We arrived in the pouring rain. The manager opened the door to our suite so that we could come into it from the parking lot. Having our dog with us, it was most helpful. I appreciated the wide parking place in front of our door. We plan to travel between Ontario and Nova scotia often and will plan to stay at your hotel. The location is great and it is wonderful to be able to our small dog with us. Thanks Jim Cullen"

"Travelling alone, I was a bit nervous about staying in a hotel room. But I did feel secure with the quality of the door locks and the written literature from the hotel stating that my satisfaction and security was paramount. Thank you!"
