The Good
The Radisson Hotel pleased the majority of its guests who recently reviewed their stay in online reviews used for this analysis.

The staff received a lot of compliments from recent hotel guest reviewers. Guests said they were friendly and helpful and described their service as excellent.

With newly-renovated rooms and public spaces (except for lobby to date), guests enjoyed the hotel and reported in guest reviews online that they found this hotel to be an excellent place to stay. One guest remarked, "completely remodeled inside--everything is immaculate". Another said, "the restaurant is nicely updated and the view of our city is spectacular".

Many guest reviewers considered the rooms to be clean, comfortable and well-maintained. Many guests thought the beds were comfortable, although there were some guests who either had trouble setting the Sleep Number beds to a comfortable setting or just said that they did not like them.

Parking was considered to be inexpensive and safe and the parking lot was well lit according to the reviewers.

Of the guests who commented about safety and security, most indicated that they felt safe at the hotel due to the constant security personnel on hand in the lobby and the heightened security measures taken by the hotel for their guests.

The location was also well-liked by guests and considered convenient to a variety of downtown sites for business meetings, hockey games and concerts. One guest advised, "If you are attending an event at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, I strongly recommend this hotel."

The Bad
There were not a lot of negative comments by guests regarding this hotel, of the recent reviews found online and used for this analysis, however more than one guest did note that the lobby needed updating.

A few guests also found their rooms to be small, (and dark according to one guest).

A couple of guests also remarked that the parking was not easy to navigate.

A couple of guests mentioned that  the hotel had loiterers around the building which gave rise to a question of safety.

The gym was considered to be limited by a couple of guests who supplied reviews online recently however in speaking with the Front Desk staff, it seems that the hotel may have added new equipment lately in their renovations.
TripAdvisor.com ranked the hotel 19th of of 57 properties in Winnipeg with an average guest rating of 3.5 out of 5 points. The site had 75 reviews.

Expedia.com ranked the hotel 4 out of 5 points with 97% of guests recommending the hotel from 36 reviews.

Booking.com ranked the hotel 8.2 out of 10 points from 9 reviews.

"well kept hotel, better if location was out of city"
"Our first room had a clogged tub and TV didn't work. The staff was very good however, but still had to move to another room. Inconvenient, but again, the staff was good and attended to the matter well. I was impressed with how they handled the issue."

Lisa from Thunder Bay, ON CA rated Radisson Hotel Winnipeg Downtown 4 out of 10 on March 13, 2011 Verified Guest Hotel Review

"Expensive, small rooms, pool closed for 6 months. No thanks."
"Pool has been closed since Sept. 2010 and no notices have been posted on any websites. Kids (9&12) were very dissapointed as swimming is a HUGE part of their vacation. Staff offered to send us via taxi across town to another motel to swim, but being - 30 celsius outside, nobody wanted to be standing around waiting for a cab after being in a nice warm pool. Rooms are very very small with terrible beds. Clean, but small and definately not for families with younger kids that like to be kids and move around. Expensive, and to rub salt into the wound, had to pay $21 for 2 nights parking. Will NOT be back and won't recommend."

"This hotel was okay. It could really use some updates and freshening up! But if you're going to the mts centre for a night, it was perfect just for the location."
