The Inn at the Forks is located at The Forks National Historic Site of Canada, a 6000 year-old meeting place at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine rivers; originally for the Assiniboine, Ojibwa and Dakota native peoples, and later for the European fur traders who settled the Red River Colony.

Now at the very heart of the city of Winnipeg, the Forks is home to an interesting collection of theatres, museums, restaurants, boutiques, craft and gift shops, plus food markets. The Forks is also a large green space with a long river walk, a skate park, winter snowboard area, and the world's longest ice-skating trail (9.3 km).

The Inn at the Forks is a newly built (in 2004) 100% smoke-free and pet-free boutique luxury hotel comprised of 5 storeys, 2 elevators, and 117 guest rooms and suites.

The upgraded and larger rooms and suites offer additional room amenities such as a mini-fridge, a 42" LCD television, oversized bath towels, deluxe bathroom amenities including bath salts, complimentary bottled water, an executive desk chair with oversized workspaces, an electric fireplace, spa bath robes, a Keurig single cup coffee and tea brewer, a Bose wave radio with an iPod dock, spa showers, rain showers, deluxe soaker tubs, and jetted tubs.

Dining facilities on site include the Current Restaurant and Lounge (with patio) which features gourmet fare and offers breakfast, (brunch on weekends) lunch and dinner along with daily room service from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Current Lounge features live jazz entertainment every Friday and Saturday evening.
