The GoodAlthough this hotel received a number of complaints, it did please the majority of its guests and managed to acquire high rating scores, from recent online guest reviews used for this analysis.
The location of the hotel was seen as a definite positive by guests, who said it was near the airport and had easy access to downtown and highways. Some guests mentioned its proximity to Polo Park and other shopping such as Cabela's (a hunting, fishing and sports store), Wal-Mart, and Bulk Barn.
Guests generally thought that the hotel and its rooms were well kept and clean, and some guest reviewers paid compliments to the hotel's modern decor and bright color scheme. The beds were considered comfy by many guest reviewers.
A few guests praised the hotel for offering a free shuttle service which allowed them to save on parking costs and taxi fares to downtown and the airport.
Most guests enjoyed the buffet breakfast, although a few guests were disappointed that it was not better managed at times when the hotel was busy.
The Bad
Guests of the Fairfield Inn were not always fully pleased with their experiences at the hotel and some weak points were noted among the reviews used for this analysis.
Although a lot of guests found the staff to be friendly and helpful, many guests complained of poor service at the front desk, ranging from slowness to mix-ups regarding rooms. Others complained of poor service from the housekeeping staff.
While some guests greatly enjoyed the pool, there were some guests who complained about too much chlorine affecting their eyes and skin, a lack of towels in the pool, the hotel insisting that the towels be left at the pool (not allowing children to walk back to their rooms covered) and too much noise from the children in the pool area.
Noise was an area of complaint in the rooms as well. Noise sources included AC/heating units, fellow guests in neighbouring rooms and hallways, airplanes taking off late at night, street traffic and nearby trains.
Although several guests mentioned that their rooms were spacious, a few guests thought their rooms were small, and a couple of guests mentioned this was particularly a problem in rooms with two queen-sized beds.
There were mixed reviews for value as well, some saying the hotel offered a "great room at a great price" and and some saying "you can probably do better on the price and quality at another hotel".
