The 100% smoke-free and air-conditioned property has 6 floors, 2 elevators and 107 guest rooms and suites. With 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting room and banquet space, the hotel can accommodate from 10 to 1,000 guests for special events, conferences and weddings.

Food facilities at the hotel feature an on-site restaurant called Aaltos Garden Cafe, serving traditional comfort food from a combined menu and daily buffet. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus Saturday Brunch from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Sunday Brunch from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Children 3 years and under eat free and there is a Senior's discount for patrons 55 years and older.

The Playmaker's Gaming Lounge, a combined sports bar and Boutique Casino with VLT's (age restriction to 18 and over), offers a full beverage and food service.

The Hacienda Patio (one of the largest in Winnipeg) is open daily from 11:30 a.m. serving Mexican cuisine for lunch and dinner.

The Tijuana Yacht Club features a night club which is open Thursday to Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. with large dance floor, Yucatan's Martini Lounge and Chilito's Mexican Food Bar.

Room service is offered from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. daily serving a full menu.

Additional hotel amenities include free wireless Internet throughout the hotel, a water park featuring an indoor heated pool with waterslide, whirlpool and kiddie wading pool; free self-parking with pass provided by hotel, 24-Hour Front Desk, free airport shuttle, ATM, fitness centre and small business centre. Children and pets stay free at the Canad Inns Polo Park, however there is a $10 surcharge for the 5th adult to stay in a room.

Basic rooms have 2 Queen beds or 1 King and come with the following room amenities: coffee maker, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, guest voice messaging, 32" flatscreen or traditional television, pay-per-view movies, free daily newspaper, mini-fridge and microwave.

Upgraded rooms called Executive King, and Theme Suites with Jacuzzi, come with the basic room amenities, plus may have table and chair, fireplace and bathrobes.

The hotel is located within walking distance (approximately 10 minutes) to the 200 shops, services and restaurants of Polo Park Shopping Centre. Located to the south, just a 3 minute drive away, is The Original Pancake House, home of Winnipeg's famous Giant Apple Pancake.

Many of the guests enjoyed the food at the hotel. It was generally agreed by the guests who recently posted reviews about this hotel online, that the food at the various eating areas was of a good quality and reasonably priced with some praising the "excellent daily buffet specials" in particular. 

Hotel guests generally thought the sheets were clean and the beds comfy.

Many reviewers commented favourably regarding the staff (although there were some complaints in this regard as well). Most thought the staff were friendly and accommodating. One guest in particular was very pleased with the staff and mentioned how especially well treated she was by the shuttle bus driver, who drove her to the Inuit Centre and picked her up an hour later demonstrating extra customer service. Another guest said she received hot cookies and was helped with her bags right up to her room (which in her opinion didn't happen that frequently in hotels anymore).

The location of the hotel was praised for being close to a shopping area (Polo Park) and other attractions.

A couple of guests complained about being charged for an unexpected security deposit, beyond the regular deposit made at the time of booking, and felt upset that they had not been forewarned about it at the time of booking.

Another guest complained about there not being enough handi-cap parking close to the entrance of the hotel.

There were also various complaints about the condition of disrepair in some of the rooms (one person cited "holes in the walls"), the service, the lack of amenities and the general state of the hotel, although it appears that many of the rooms were upgraded.
