The Good
Many guests enjoyed their stays at this hotel, judging from the reviews read for this editorial. The hotel offered a budget stay near to the ocean and close to shopping and dining.

Guests typically found  the oceanfront location to be the highlight of this hotel, with walks to the beach, many nearby restaurants and boutique shops and ocean air coming into the rooms. More than one guest enjoyed watching the tides change and walking along the Ocean Promenade all the way to White Rock pier.

Guests described their rooms as clean, comfortable and spacious, with pleasant ocean views. Guests spoke of their rooms being well equipped with kitchen facilities, heated floors, fireplaces that helped to heat the rooms and comfortable beds.

The staff were warm and friendly, according to many reviewers.

The Bad
Some guests offered negative feedback in the reviews consulted for this editorial.

Some guests said the hotel was noisy. Some reviewers described hearing conversations and noise from neighbouring rooms and the Amtrak trains which passed nearby. Guests also found the bar next door noisy, especially at 2 am when it closed down. One guest maintained that the ocean view rooms also faced the train tracks and were more noisy when trains passed by in the middle of the night.

Sometimes guests said that the room rates were too expensive for certain rooms, which they described as mediocre and complained of having to pay extra for parking. Also, some felt that the prices should have been lower during the off season.

Some guests found that the balconies did not offer the privacy expected as they were connected to neighbouring rooms or were part of a walkway that other hotel guests could use. Guests sometimes complained of having to keep the curtains drawn for privacy.

A few guests found spotty Wi-Fi connections.
