Overview
Located on Wharf St., steps to BC Whale Tours and the Inner Harbour (also on Wharf St), this 46 room, non-smoking hotel is popular with guests who seek accomodations that have inclusions with the room rate (parking, breakfast and WI FI), and who want to be centrally located to explore Victoria by foot. Amenities include an on-site spa and a guest laundry.

The Good
For guests that had a positive experience, much of it was attributed to the central waterfront location and service received from the staff.

Staff here received top marks from a number of guests who used words like "helpful" and "friendly" to describe their impressions. Several guests commented on the front desk staff, and of their willingness to "go the extra mile". Staff were particularly helpful when it came to offering directions and suggestions for shopping and restaurants.

The location was excellent, according to a number of guests, who enjoyed the scenic views afforded by the harbourfront location, as well as the convenience of being able to access a number of Victoria's attractions within a short walk.

Guests commented on the cleanliness and size of the rooms, saying that they were well-configured and comfortable.

There were a few additional comments on things like the quality and selection of the continental breakfast and good value received for price paid.

The Bad
While many of the comments used for this analysis were favourable, there were a few common points for complaints, including noise disturbance and ageing decor.

A number of guests indicated that the decor in the common areas and in the rooms was "tired" and in need of updating, and made specific mention of chairs in rooms, patio furniture and carpets.

Street noise, and noise from the harbour itself was a factor for some guests, especially for those who had their windows open. One guest noted that she was able to insulate herself from much of the street noise by keeping her windows closed.

A few guests noted that the parking lot was tight, awkwardly configured and difficult to manoeuvre in.

There were a few peripheral complaints centring on problems with the showers like water pressure and discoloured water.
Confirmed with a front desk agent: WI FI, parking and breakfast (call date: June 21, 2012).
