OverviewLocated less than a 5 minute walk from the Inner Harbour and Victoria's waterfront, described by one guest as a "small place with big charm", this 64-room, non-smoking hotel is popular with guests who want to be able to wander many of Victoria's attractions by foot, and who are seeking a "boutique" hotel experience. Amenities include a full service spa, a gym and a sauna. Guests can choose from a variety of rooms that offer different configurations, bed sizes and views. In all rooms, guests can expect free WI FI, welcome chocolates, fruit, bottled water, Aveda toiletries, an iron and an ironing board, a hairdryer, voicemail, bathrobes, imported coffees and teas, a cordless phone, a flat screen TV and a refrigerator. Pets are permitted at this hotel for $60/stay. Valet parking is available on site for $20/day.
While there are several restaurants within walking distance, guests can choose to dine on site at Prime Steakhouse, open for lunch Monday-Saturday from 11:30am-4:30pm, and for dinner daily from 4:30pm-11:00pm. A complimentary deluxe continental breakfast is offered daily from 7:00am-11:00am.
This hotel is well-located to several of Victoria's attractions, including BC Whale Tours and the BC Maritime Museum, both approximately a 6 minute walk away. The downtown Victoria area is close by as well, about a 9 minute walk. Butchart Gardens is slightly farther away, about a 13 minute drive. Guests travelling by air should budget about 30 minutes to travel the 27km between the hotel and Victoria International Airport (YYJ) (distances and driving time estimates: Google Maps). Check-in is at 4:00pm, while check-out is at 12:00pm.

The GoodThere were many favourable comments from guests who thought the location was convenient and that staff were "arguably the best". Several guests were repeat visitors.
Guests said they received excellent service from staff, and used words like "gracious", "professional hospitality" and "welcoming" to describe their impressions. Several guests indicated that the small, boutique style of the hotel lent itself to personalized service, something that was demonstrated by staff throughout the hotel, from the front desk to housekeeping.
Location was praised frequently by guests, who appreciated being able to access a number of restaurants and attractions within a short walk. Guests also commented on the "experience" of staying at the hotel, saying that there were a number of small touches that enhanced the quality of their stay, like live piano playing in the lobby, and fruit and chocolates offered in the rooms. Guests also said that the rooms were comfortable, and commented on the decor and furnishings in the rooms, making specific mention of the beds and the bathrooms.
There were a few additional comments, on things like receiving good value for the price paid and on the quality of the continental breakfast.

The Bad
While reviews for this hotel were mostly positive, guests had some issues in the rooms themselves.
A few guests felt that walls were thin, and were disturbed by noise from guests in neighbouring rooms, as well as noise coming from the hallway.
A number of guests liked having access to free WI FI, but a couple of guests had trouble with spotty connections in their rooms. One guest indicated that his connection was unreliable.
Another guests felt that there was an inadequate selection of TV stations.
There were a few peripheral complaints, pertaining to expensive food at the on-site restaurant and a lack of windows in the rooms.
