The Good
This very clean hotel was enjoyed for its beautiful views, quiet, more secluded location, nearby walking trail that edged the harbour, fine dining and excellent staff.

Rooms in the luxury Erickson Wing were clean, spacious and comfortable, and had huge bathrooms, Occitane toiletries, floor-to-ceiling windows, larger balconies and beautiful views of the outer harbour, marinas and Fisherman’s Wharf.

Rooms in the older Laurel Wing were a good size with comfortable beds, Aveda toiletries, small to medium-size balconies, and great views of the park and seaplanes taking off and landing.

The location was excellent. It was had the feel of being closer to nature, surrounded by the water, right on the harbourfront path and an easy walk to Fisherman’s Wharf, the ferry, museums, restaurants and downtown.

Staff were friendly, willing to help and courteous.

Guests enjoyed very good food, nice local beers, and an excellent terrace with amazing views of the harbour.

Guests also liked: online check-in system, lovely artwork in the hotel, treasure hunt for kids, and walking along the David Foster path in front of the hotel which bordered the harbour.

The Bad
Some guests provided negative feedback.

Recent room complaints were: a poor view of rooftops and murky pond, no free bottled water, small balcony with no chair, balcony not that clean, double beds a little small for 2 people, booked a king room—got 2 double beds, towels not fluffy, needs more lighting above kitchen area, coffee machine did not work, smell of plane fuel from sea planes, no HDMI port on TV and dock station is old technology.

Noise transferred from: the hallway, the elevator, plumbing, guests walking in the room above, heater/air-conditioner, guests in nearby rooms and float planes taking off and landing.

Other comments found were: room service menu was small, $4 service fee for room service along with mandatory 15% tip, indoor pool on the small side, no hot tub, hallways in Laurel Wing seemed worn and had no decoration and bus stop was a little far away.
