Kelly from Surey, BC CA stayed on August 06, 2006
"The location of the hotel was central to the Inner Harbour which made walking to and from the attractions quite easy. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly.
The hotel itself is older, so be aware there is no swimming pool available or air conditioning in the majority of rooms.
A couple of minor gripes...tv was broken but no big deal and there was no bottle opener in the room. The bar staff was nice enough to lend me one.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were comfortable and the hotel was quiet. The price was reasonable and as mentioned before, the staff friendly. We would stay here again."

"Hotel is run down and dirty. There was no mention in the ad about having to pay for parking. Also it is not a Ramada anymore."

"We had an excellent stay. This criticism actually applies to every king-sized bed we've slept in at a hotel, so it's not directed specifically to the Ramada, but my husband and I have hobbled around with a sore back for three days after sleeping in a hard king-sized bed. I would like to suggest that perhaps someone should look into a different type of institutional mattress.
Otherwise, the Ramada and its staff were excellent."

"We had booked a room on-line with two queen beds. I believe it was a standard. When we checked in the front desk had us as two adults only and our confirmation read 2 adults, two children. We were given a loft suite but.... When the hida bed is out and Mom or Dad has to get to the washroom we had to grab the stair raillings to get past our sleeping girls. The carpet really dirty."

"This hotel is the perfect place to stay while visiting Victoria. It isn't right down in the harbour, but offers a great view. Not even a 5 minute walk to everything in the inner harbour. It is perfectly located. The hotel has a hot tub off of the restaurant area with a sauna. Coffee every morning, but not enough sugar for 2 people. Some confusion with booking through Canadianhotel.com when we got there, but quickly resolved. I would stay again without hesitation. We actually stayed until Sept 26."

"It would have been perfect if it had air conditioning. The temp was in the 80's(26 to 28) during our stay with really warm nights."

"The room was very clean and tidy and fresh. Unfortunately, also VERY small for a family of 4. Almost cramped, but I am not sure what could be done because that was the size of the room. No airconditioning for a very hot day and although we left our one window open, it was very sultry. I must compliment the hotel for leaving a fan in the room for our use. I don't know what we would have done with out the fan. It made it bearable. I am sure the heat is an unsual manifestation of the summer. Everyone in Victoria, including the hotel staff, were VERY polite, friendly, helpful and kind. It is a beautiful place."

"The hotel was quaint but since we arrived later in the evening and was leaving very early the next morning, we weren't there long enough to give a complete assessment of the hotel. The one negative aspect I must share is the lack of air conditioning. We were there the end of June which is generally rather cool and didn't think this would be an issue. When we entered the room, it was a bit stuffy but opening the window(which wasn't very much) helped. It wasn't until my son took a shower and the room became so humid it was unbearable. There was a stiff breeze coming from the harbour but the position of the window wasn't very efficient to draw in the cool breeze. The room never cooled down despite the cool temps outside that evening. My wife never slept that night and the kids were restless. I was uncomfortable but was able to sleep some. My wife's parents had a room down the hall and we found out they had a fan in their room. A fan may have helped. If we knew fans were available, I am sure they would have delivered one quickly if we called the front desk.
On a more positive note, my wife and I have been coming to Vancouver Island every other year since we were married and despite any negatives, the positives always out number the negatives and the people have always been helpful and gracious no matter where we go. Despite the extra warm room, the employees would greet us with a smile when we walked in the door. The location of this hotel to the ferry terminal was wonderful especially since we were taking the 6:10 A.M. ferry the next morning. After we checked in, I went for pizza and dropped my wife and oldest son off near the Empress so my son could take night photos in the area. They said it was so beautiful that night and the hotel was so close to the Empress and Legislative buildling, they decided to walk to the hotel when they were done with the photographs. A leisurely walk took around 15 minutes from the tourist information building to the hotel. I would stay at this hotel again if I am taking another early ferry but maybe earlier in the season when it is much much cooler or at least ferret out a fan next time:-) God bless!"

"The weather was cool so we were comfortable at night. I would be concerned if the weather was hot. We were on the bottom floor and, therefore, were not able to open the door while sleeping."
