The Helm's Inn offers a choice of three charming buildings which have all been extensively upgraded and redecorated. All guest rooms come with a kitchenette or full kitchen (includes an oven). Some rooms come with a balcony and the hotel offers 1-bedroom suites as well. All rooms include: free Wi-Fi, cable TV, coffeemaker with complimentary coffee, tea kettle with complimentary tea, data ports, an iron and an ironing board and a hair dryer.
Parking is available on site for a charge of $5 per day. Pets are not allowed and there is no on-site dining available at this hotel. This hotel does not have an elevator. On-site amenities include a guest laundry, a tea and sitting room for guests, a computer/business centre, and an outdoor courtyard.

For several guests, the location of this hotel was a positive factor who found it convenient to so much in downtown Victoria, from public transit, to an easy walk to groceries, to restaurants and tea houses, to the Parliament buildings to the Inner Harbour and BC Ferries.
Additionally, many guests commented on the cleanliness and the size of the rooms finding them spacious, well decorated, comfortable and cozy. Some were long-term visitors or returning visitors who enjoyed the rooms and felt they were given such good value for being so well located and in such a clean and well-furnished accommodation. There were also many positive comments about the size of the rooms. Many guests said that the kitchen facilities were clean and well-stocked. Many reported comfortable beds.
Guests also received good service from staff. Words like friendly and helpful described overall guest sentiment.
Many guests also appreciated the free Wi-Fi and some said it worked well. Others were pleased with the hot beverages offered at the hotel for free.
There was very little by way of complaint in the reviews read for this report as it seems that most guests were quite satisfied overall for their accommodations.
Although some guests mentioned that there was limited and paid parking, small bathrooms and no elevators in the building, it did not seem like a complaint made but by way of information regarding what might be a weak spot for some guests.
However when it came to noise, a few guests seemed inconvenienced by a number of things which created a noise disturbance. Items mentioned were: slamming doors, buses stopping in front of the hotel, and guests speaking or watching TV in the next room over.
