The Good
This hotel was enjoyed for its stunning harbour views, excellent location, nearby water taxis and free downtown shuttle.

Rooms were clean, updated and spacious with lots of plug-ins for electronics and comfy beds. Many enjoyed views of the harbour with the Empress Hotel and Parliament buildings lit up at night.

Guests loved the location. It was quiet and away from the noisier downtown area in a park like setting, yet an easy walk to the waterfront, water taxis, restaurants and downtown.

Staff were helpful and courteous.

Guests often appreciated the dining on site with some calling it great and some adequate.

Guests enjoyed the spa for his and her massages.

Many guests really appreciated the hotel’s free downtown shuttle service.

Guests also liked: water taxi was right out front for going downtown and exploring the area, a Starbucks in the lobby and the concierge was full of suggestions and ideas to make the trip memorable.

The Bad
Guests who complained were usually not impressed with the hotel for the price paid, had no-view rooms or suffered a lax in the typically good service.

Recent room complaints were: cleaning can improve, an uncomfortable mattress, no safes and no bathrobes.

Noise disturbance was mentioned on occasion from: the hallway, a neighbouring room, a connecting room through the door, an in-room heater, a nearby loading dock and the loud club music in the lounge which filtered into the restaurant’s dining room.

Some guests thought the hotel was overpriced. They felt uninspired by the non-view rooms and said it did not provide the sense of relaxation of a resort hotel but felt more like a corporate or average hotel. Others complained about the prices or service at the restaurant.

Other comments found were: did not get room booked, lobby not that comfortable for sitting and relaxing in, not enough pool furniture, earlier breakfast times needed, no newspapers available at breakfast and no gift shop.
