Overview
Capital City Center Hotel is situated in downtown Victoria, a 4-minute walk from Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre (arena and concert venue). The hotel is well-located for guests wanting to access the Memorial Centre or many of the tourist attractions in downtown Victoria, including Chinatown and the Inner Harbour and Legislature buildings.

This newly upgraded and renovated property is 100% smoke free. All 84 rooms include free private Wi-Fi or direct connect network, a 27" flat panel TV with premium cable and free movie channels, a Keurig coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a microwave, an iron and ironing board, a work desk, a hair dryer and individual climate control. Rooms are furnished with 2 double beds, 2 queen beds or 1 king bed. Room extras include a mini-kitchen (mini-fridge, microwave, stove top, toaster, kettle, but no sink), a dining table for 4 persons, a patio and a balcony. This hotel also offers accessible rooms with mini-kitchens and accessible patios.

Free parking is available on site. Pets are welcome for $15 per night.

Guests can dine on site at the Kitty Cafe or Splash Restaurant and Bar which offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room service is also available during restaurant hours. There is also a selection of restaurants, bars and shopping within a 5-minute walk of the hotel.

Hotel amenities offered for guests include a seasonal outdoor pool (with a food and licensed beverage service), a business centre, a fax and photocopy machine, an ATM, a 24-hour front desk, safety deposit boxes at the front desk, an elevator, a guest laundry, plus conference and meeting rooms. 

Guests wishing to access the waterfront area will find it about 6 minutes away on foot. Chinatown is also nearby, a 4-minute walk and the Inner Harbour is slightly farther, about a 15-minute walk. The Maritime Museum of B.C. and the Victoria Bug Zoo are 12 minutes away on foot, while The Empress Room (tea room and restaurant) is about a 16-minute walk away. The Good
Most guests were pleased with their stays, in the reviews read for this editorial.

Many guests were very pleased with the location of this hotel. They described it as a short walk from all downtown attractions, the bus stop and the airport shuttle bus. A couple of guests were pleased that it was close to the White Spot restaurant and located on a quiet street.

The value provided by this hotel was next on the list of praises, with guests saying it was priced very reasonably even though it was close to the downtown core. A few guests stayed for an extended time and said they really enjoyed their stays.

Many guests enjoyed the rooms and commented on the improvement brought by the recent renovations. They judged the rooms to be clean, spacious and well-maintained, with comfortable beds. Guests who had kitchenettes found them well stocked, and many were pleased with this amenity.

Several guests were pleased to have free parking at the hotel. And guests appreciated the security cameras focused over the parking lot that helped to keep their cars secure.

Several guests were also very pleased to have an outdoor pool on site, with a deck and lounge attached, where guests could relax with a drink or dine, and some complimented the food, as well as prices and service on site.

The Bad
There were a some negative remarks where guests pointed out weak spots, in the facility or service, in recent reviews read for this report.

Occasionally guests mentioned that the hotel was a little far in walking distance from some of the downtown attractions in their opinion. 

Recent guests had difficulty cooling their rooms with the current AC units and the heatwave in Victoria in the summer of 2015.

A few guests complained of unsatisfactory housekeeping, where towels were not fully supplied, garbage emptied and where they did not show enough attention to detail.

There was the occasional complaint about noise transfer from the hallways. A couple of guests said their rooms were small and also found the elevator small and old.
