Overview
Best Western Plus Vernon Lodge and Conference Centre is a 10-minute walk from the downtown core. The hotel offers on-site dining, business and recreation facilities, which may appeal to both business and leisure travellers wanting a hotel with a variety of amenities, close to downtown.

This 100% non-smoking hotel offers 27 rooms over three floors. Standard rooms include an LCD TV, a Super Nintendo, an iPod dock, air conditioning, a hair dryer, a coffeemaker, an iron and ironing board and two queen beds. Upgraded rooms may feature a balcony, robes, a king bed or a queen bed and sofabed. One-bedroom suites may feature a separate living room area with sofabed, a mini-fridge and two queen beds or one king bed and a jetted tub. Some suites include a microwave. Room service and complimentary Wi-Fi, daily newspaper and local calls are available in every room. Pets are allowed in certain rooms for an additional $10 per night.

Amenities at this hotel include an indoor pool, a hot tub, a fitness centre, a tropical courtyard, a business centre and meeting and conference facilities. On-site dining options include Branches Cafe, open for breakfast, BX Creek Bar and Grill and Checker's Bar and Grill, both open for lunch and dinner. Free parking and hot breakfast are available to all guests.

There are many businesses within a a few blocks of the hotel, while Village Green Centre shopping mall and Vernon Jubilee Hospital are both a 5-minute drive away. Silver Star Mountain Resort and Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre are about a 40-minute drive away, while Kalamalka Provincial Park can be reached in about 25 minutes by car. The Good
Many reviews used for this analysis were positive and focused on the staff, the amenities and the location.

The staff were complimented by many guests for being friendly and helpful. Guests also mentioned that staff were efficient and courteous.

Many guests appreciated that the hotel offered a variety of amenities. The tropical courtyard was a highlight for many and was described as being meticulously maintained, with great ambiance. 

Although many felt the pool was warm and enjoyable, a few complained that it had ladders for access, rather than stairs. 

There were a few complaints of slow service in the restaurants but other than that, most comments were positive and mentioned that the food and service was good and that it was convenient to have restaurants on site.

Some guests appreciated the hotel's proximity to shops, restaurants and the downtown area.

The Bad
Although many reviews used for this analysis were positive, some negative points focused on the age of the building, noise and housekeeping.

Many guests felt the hotel was "showing it's years" and could use some updating of decor and amenities to give it a more modern appearance. There were several complaints that the hotel did not have an elevator, however, at the time of writing there was one being installed.

Some guests were disturbed by noise from the courtyard and pool area. A few others complained of noise from guests in adjacent rooms.

Although, many guests mentioned that the rooms were clean, there were a few complaints that the daily housekeeping was not at the level expected by some guests.
