Located on Granville St. near Davie St. in the heart of downtown Vancouver, the Howard Johnson Hotel Vancouver is geared towards travellers who prefer a budget hotel with extended kitchen amenities, on-site dining and easy access to public transit. 

Each of this smoke-free and pet-free hotel's guest rooms comes equipped with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a coffeemaker, a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board. Room with a kitchenette or microwave and mini-fridge, a jetted tub, a fireplace and a sitting area with a sofabed are also available. The hotel does not offer wheelchair-accessible rooms.

Many guests liked the hotel's location in the heart of the downtown. They described it as close to public transit, shopping, restaurants and pubs, Canada Place cruise terminal, Granville St. and Yaletown.

The hotel's staff were the source of several compliments by reviewers. They were characterized as accommodating, friendly, professional and helpful with area suggestions and directions.

Many guests found the rooms, although older, to be well maintained, clean and comfortable.

The Bad

Some guests complained of noise disturbances during their stay. They reported noise from nearby nightclubs in street-facing rooms, as well as hallway noise, noisy air conditioning and noise from guests in overhead rooms.
