The Good
Many guests who reviewed this hotel online enjoyed their stays. They considered it to be a classy and comfortable hotel that was well located for enjoying Vancouver's downtown attractions, whether they were there to shop, to dine, to bike or kayak or to take in the unique culture of Gastown.

The well-trained staff made a huge impression with guests who felt they were receiving first class treatment from people who genuinely cared. They were described as polite, intelligent, friendly and "attentive to our every need".

The restaurant was another highlight with guests really enjoying the delicious food on site. Some were pleased to obtain complimentary coffee and croissants each morning in the lobby, and room service was equally pleasing.

Many guests considered the rooms to be spotless and the sleep quality excellent.

The Bad
The hotel received many perfect scores from reviewers, but occasionally guests offered some critique of the product that was offered, in relation to the price charged.

Some guests thought that the hotel was a little pricey. These guests also said that the bathrooms were tiny with low ceilings and the room decor was dated. A couple of reviewers claimed that the hotel's classiness was diminished by decor that was more corporate than luxury, double beds versus queen beds, TVs in the restaurant, and a lobby that lacked ambiance with an escalator ride to the front desk.

A couple of guests complained about the cost of parking, and one guest felt the price really added up for a multiple day stay.

Although there was free Wi-Fi, some guests were disappointed that it only covered two devices.

The hotel did not provide coffeemakers in the rooms which was a disappointment to more than one, and other similar complaints included no (extractor) fans in the bathrooms and no free newspaper delivery.

One recent reviewer claimed that although they had a confirmed reservation, the hotel had oversold their rooms and didn't have room for them when they arrived. They were put up at a cheaper hotel (the Fairmont), were inconvenienced and consequently lost some needed leisure time on their trip.
