The Coast Vancouver Airport Hotel is located 4.4km from the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in Richmond B.C. (distance: Google Maps). This hotel provides 24-hour complimentary airport shuttle service.

This property offers three different room types. The Comfort room can be furnished with 1 king sized bed, 1 queen sized bed or 2 double beds. The Superior room offers 1 king sized bed or 2 double beds and includes 2 terry cloth bathrobes, a bistro table with two chairs and a refrigerator. The Superior suite includes 1 king bed, 2 terry cloth robes, double-bed sofa, dining table with seating for six, microwave, refrigerator, jetted tub and 2 televisions. All rooms include a small work desk, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, hot beverages (coffee, tea, and hot chocolate), complimentary local calls, and a free Globe and Mail newspaper.

The Coast Vancouver Airport Hotel is pet-friendly ($20 per pet, per night) and offers free wireless Internet. Guests have access to a fitness facility, and a business centre. Ice machines and pop/snack vending machines are on each floor.

There are two restaurants in the hotel. White Spot restaurant is open from 6:30am to 10pm and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hudson's Landing Pub is open for lunch and dinner service. The hotel also offers room service from 6:45am to 9:30pm.

Parking is available for $12.20 per night, per vehicle, and may be used by travellers for longer term parking.

The Richmond city center area is 6.2km from the hotel while the downtown Vancouver city centre is 7.0km away. Popular Vancouver area attractions are the following distances from the hotel: GM Place (9.1km) and Stanley Park (12.2km) (distances: Google Maps).

Many guests seemed very impressed with this hotel's ability to cater to airport travellers. The shuttle service, friendly staff, cleanliness, and value for money paid were the positives noted by most reviewers.

Guest reviews described the shuttle service as prompt and the drivers as friendly. Reviewers were particularly happy that the service was complimentary and guests were pleasantly surprised with how frequently the shuttle made trips to and from the airport.  

The service provided by hotel staff was commonly described as friendly and helpful in guest reviews. One guest stated that the front desk staff's attention to detail made his stay more comfortable.

The value the hotel provided was a common theme among reviewers. Many guests said the hotel was very affordable and one reviewer called the price "unbeatable" for the location and quality of the property. Many guests mentioned the inclusion of two on-site restaurants as a value added feature.

Most guests found their room to be clean with modern furnishings. Many reviewers also complimented the quality of the beds and found them to be comfortable.

Other positive reviews included a strong wireless Internet connection and quiet rooms.

The Bad
Negative experiences at this hotel were difficult to find. Of the rare guest complaints, there were only a few aspects that were criticized: the slightly outdated decor, the older style bathroom plumbing, and lack of soundproofing in the room.

A few guests felt the hotel furnishings were out-dated. One reviewer mentioned that the hotel was beginning to show it's age and could use some renovations (particularly the bathroom plumbing).

Another guest mentioned having wireless Internet problems on the 4th floor and said she was only able to connect to the hotel network in the lobby.

A few reviewers had problems with noise in the room. Some guests complained about hearing sounds from adjoining rooms while other guests had concerns about traffic noise from the nearby street. However, there was little mention of any sound disturbances from airplane traffic despite the hotel being so close to the airport. 

Several guests complained that on-site parking was not free.

"close to airport"

"This hotel is conveniently located close to the airport, with shuttle bus service. It is basic but clean and comfortable. It is an older building, and nothing fancy. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel where we ate breakfast, which was good. It was fine for a stopover."

"A great place to stay and a bang for you buck"

"The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was nice and clean, the free internet a bonus plus, and the only drawback was the location. When coming from the airport, and no left turn permitted, it was rather hard to access the hotel without going around and around to finally get to it."

"I picked this hotel for the location to the airport but more so I prefered to have my car and was able to leave it with the hotel for 19dys which was over the regular limit and they were more than happy to accomodate me without any hesitation or extra charges, which was very impotant to me. I will definitely stay again. I did have trouble finding the correct entrance to get into the hotel !And I am from Vacouver.! Thank You"

"If you contact the hotel, I suggest that they somehow make the thermostat control knobs more visible. Not only are they in the dark, but the colouring and purpose for each of the 3 dials is not shown. Perhaps a glued-on guide on the lift-up panel would help. Other than that, I was pleasently surprised at the hotel's facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant and pub were very good. T. Taylor Rm. 419 Thanks."
