The Good
Guests had enjoyable stays in comfortable rooms and appreciated the service and location of this hotel, judging from recent reviews posted online and considered for this report.

Although the hotel is older, guests found the rooms to be spacious with comfortable beds and well cleaned.

Staff were attentive and the hotel was well managed.

Guests seemed to want to stay at this hotel for its free, secure parking and good highway and public transit access, making it convenient to downtown destinations while affording guests to be outside of the more expensive, higher traffic areas. A plus for many guests was the convenience to the PNE in the summertime. Others liked the large selection of ethnic restaurants nearby and the safe feel to the neighbourhood.

Guests often commented positively on the free breakfast, and one recent guest described it as having "cereal, english muffins, bacon or sausage, hot eggs and yogurt". Guests who spoke of the pub typically had good things to say, with one guest saying,"The attached pub was also fantastic for service and meals."

Guests were also pleased with the hotel's cost with lower room rates, free parking, free hot breakfast and free downtown shuttle service all adding value to their stay.

The Bad
Although the hotel seemed to hit the mark for a large number of guests, there were one common concern that came up frequently in the reviews online.

The most common complaint was that the hotel needed updates. Of special concern were the stained and rippling carpets and stained upholstered furniture in the rooms. Although many seemed to find comfortable beds, there was the very odd complaint about an old mattress.

Guests often complained of noise, mostly from traffic, but some mentioned hallway noise and AC units.

Although some found fast Wi-Fi at the hotel, there were guests who said it was basic, did not stream and was hit and miss in the rooms but worked well in the lobby.
