Located along Yellowhead Highway next to the R.W. Staratt Wildlife Sanctuary, the Best Western Valemount Inn & Suites is geared towards travellers passing through or visiting the area, who prefer an economical hotel with an indoor pool, extended kitchen amenities and easy highway access.

This non-smoking hotel has 77 air-conditioned guest rooms and suites, all of which offer free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a desk, a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board. Standard rooms offer two queen beds, while various rooms and suites offer additional amenities such as a kitchenette, a sitting area with a sofabed, a jetted tub, a fireplace, a mountain view and beds for up to six people.

Hotel amenities include an indoor pool with a waterslide, a hot tub, a business centre, a fitness room, meeting/banquet facilities, a gift shop and free parking. Dining is offered on site at Summit Grill Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Cranberry Lounge, which serves dinner daily. Room service is available from 4:30 pm to 9 pm. Accessible rooms are available upon request and this hotel has elevators. Pets are permitted for an additional $20 per pet per stay.

The College of New Caledonia is about a 3-minute drive north of the Best Western Valemount, while Valemount Arena is a 4-minute drive north. Valemount Pines Golf & Country Club is roughly a 5-minute drive northwestward, and Jackman Flats Provincial Park is about 15 minutes northwest by car. The Good
The majority of the reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, with much praise going to the hotel's rooms, staff and value.

Many lodgers praised their rooms at this hotel, and described them as clean, spacious, well equipped and modern, with comfortable beds and great views of the surrounding mountains.

The hotel's staff were the source of numerous compliments by reviewers, and were characterized as personable, knowledgeable and responsive. One guest mentioned the staff were more than ready to help when needed.

Several guests were pleased with the hotel's value. They found the hotel to be reasonably priced and felt it provided excellent value for the rate. One reviewer recommended this hotel to anyone looking for something better than your average budget hotel.

Sledders liked the locked and secured compound for their sleds in the winter at this hotel.
The Bad
While the majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were a couple of common complaints about the restaurant and public hot tub.

Some guests felt the hotel had recently gone down. One guest complained about combative service from the server and extra charges for an additional mayo portion. Another guest was disappointed that the new chef had changed the menu so that their great hot wings were now without the sauce. Another guest complained about the much higher cost of breakfast.

A couple of guests complained about a dirty communal hot tub with a black ring around it.

"Great Value and Relaxing Stay"

"After a long day on the road we need a comfortable rest which we received in a very quality room and setting. Very good dinner and breakfast to support our stay. Staff in reception and restaurant very friendly and accommodating. We enjoined the stay so much we booked for our return trip. Best Western Valemount Inn and Suites is worth the stay"

"Great Hotel"

"We recently stayed one night at the Best western in Valemount. It was a wonderful hotel, clean and very quiet, and the customer service was excellent. They really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was really good. I'd definitely stay there again"
