This hotel has rather low ratings and is therefore recommended with reservations. Only a 10-minute walk to town, the Marina West Motel, located on Hwy 4 (or Campbell St.), is also accessible by boat. It looks like a good budget place for a stopover and has really good rates. Guests said it was clean and had comfortable beds and the motel was in the heart of it all, close to Tonquin Beach and within walking distance of all places of interest in the town. Jack's Pub is just down the hill overlooking the water and the motel offers great value for the dollar.

All rooms are smoke-free and feature a 40" LCD TV which offers premium TV channels, a coffee/tea maker, and a microwave. Upgraded rooms offer balconies with mountain views and there are kitchenette rooms with an additional mini-fridge and stove top.

Hotel amenities include a private marina with sea adventure tours (whale watching, bear watching, fishing charters and hot spring tours), a business centre, guest laundry and a pool table. The Diner at Marina West serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and Jack's Waterfront Pub serves lunch and dinner daily. Freebies include: Wi-Fi and parking.

This beautiful lodge with gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean, is located on the Pacific Rim Highway, just 5 minutes' drive to the Tofino town centre. The Whaling Tour Port and Coastal Bear Watch is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel. This hotel is not cheap, but it's not exorbitant for what it offers, in my opinion and guests online have said it offers reasonable rates too. Tips For Staying In Tofino

What to do in Tofino?

Tofino is a popular summer tourist destination located on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia about 4.5 hours from Victoria.

Tofino's spring attractions include whale watching in March at the Pacific Rim Whale Festival, the Shorebird Festival in April and the Tofino Food and Wine Festival in June which features British Columbia wines paired with local chef's delicacies. Other popular festivals include the Lantern Festival in August and Art in the Gardens, a two-day local arts and music festival in September.

If you love oysters, you may want to attend the Clayoquot Oyster Festival in November, with live music and slurping contests!

Tofino enjoys the most temperate climate of all of Canada, with warmer winters than Victoria or Vancouver and cool summers.
