"For non-Canadian visitors it is often hard to determine from maps where the real centre of a city is located. In Prince George the "downtown" is next to the rail station, where we arrived. Having booked in advance at the Sandman, Central Street, the taxi took us 3 miles to the highway downtown, where there were the normal highway service facilities, plus 2 other better restaurants. As a result we got to see more of Prince George on our overnight stop, but it was still a strange experience.
