"overall cleanliness was bad, rooms are small and outdated, no fridge. noisy surroundings as slamming doors echoed through the room all night, exercise room beside room in lobby. overall it was a low rate hotel."

"Great location and good value"
"Front desk service excellent. Rooms spacious and clean. Quiet hallways and rooms at night. Easy walking distance to the Okanagan Lake, and the down town area."

"This hotel is resonably located to most of the services in Penticton. If one were to go to Penticton for a specific event, The Sandman is all right, but there are some more inviting places to stay. I can't understand why we were given a room at the back of the hotel with endless corridors to walk when we seemed to be the only people staying there that Sunday evening.

"The room was too hot. the heater wasnt even on.
Found the room to be very closed in, which made it hard to sleep.
I had to use the hotel phone, as I was unable to use my cell in it. poor reception for my cell. was not pleased."

"They really need to clean it up. The carpets in the halls were very dirty and old. The carpet in the rooms were also dirty and the pillows were old. The staff at the front desk were great and helpful."

"Well presented hotel with good size rooms, covered indoor pool and hot tub. 10 to 15 minutes walk from Okanagan lake beach and restaurants. Denny's restaurant attached so reasonable price breakfast and dinner for familes on a budget. only down side is some rooms, like ours, don't face outside but rather the inside pool so curtains have to be pulled most of the time and not much of a view. This can make the room quite dark."

"I ordinarily do not respond to such on-line surveys but as a professor of adventure tourism felt compelled to briefly respond. Penticton has successfully positioned itself as the Canadian capital of triathloning and, by extension, fitness including marathoning, mountain biking, sport climbing, etc. The community is riding the wave of its popularity and justifiably ought to capitalize on it. The room rate was, however, excessive for the quality of the room, hotel and surrounding area and did not justify the $140 charge so I could run a marathon the following day. Management is advised to reconsider to whom it wishes to price its product - returning recreationists are not like busloads of tourists who have a one night stand with your city. They will come back to the city but will vote with their feet as to where they choose to put them up for a night's stay in Penticton. At the price I was charged, I shall look elsewhere next time."
