Sandy Beach Motel is my first choice if staying in Osoyoos. It is located right on the beach and appears to be the least expensive of the hotel options in Osoyoos but with very good ratings and nice facilities. Guests liked the friendly hosts and said that the rooms were well-equipped, spacious and well-maintained. Others noted a pub across the street and said that it was centrally located.

Their room rates are based upon a 2 person occupancy and the hotel charges $10 per night (or $30 per week) for each additional person regardless of the size of the suite.

All accommodations are smoke-free suites and come with flat screen cable TVs, fully equipped kitchens, dining areas, living areas, patios and some have views of the lake. Upgraded suites have a separate living room, in-suite laundry and fireplaces.

The hotel has its own private beach, lawns and gardens, BBQs, lawn chairs, picnic facilities, volleyball net, tennis court, playground and guest laundry. Freebies include: Wi-Fi, non-motorized boats for guest use and parking.

The Best Western is my second choice for Osoyoos. It is a popular hotel in east Osoyoos with good ratings and a lower price point for the area. Guests liked the excellent value offered by the hotel, the large family rooms, comfortable beds, clean pool and hot tub and free breakfast.

It's walking distance to the lake (3 minutes) and Rattlesnake Canyon Amusement Park, with go-karts, bumper boats and mini-golf is next door. Sonora Dunes Executive Golf Course and the Spirit Ridge Vineyard are both 4 minutes' drive from the hotel.

Rooms are smoke-free and feature flat screen TVs. Suites come with a full kitchen, dining area, a living room with a sofabed and separate bedroom. Some have jetted tubs.

The hotel features an indoor pool, hot tub and fitness facility. McKia's restaurant is on site and the hotel provides safe deposit boxes, a business centre and guest laundry. Freebies include: Wi-Fi, breakfast, coffee and tea in the lobby and parking.

Introduction to Osoyoos

Osoyoos is a beautiful little resort town situated at the edge of Osoyoos Lake, in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. The closest city to Osoyoos is Penticton 63km or one hour straight north, up Hwy 97 (aka Okanagan Highway). The U.S. border is only 4km or 6 minutes straight south.

Osoyoos typically attracts visiters from BC, Alberta and even the U.S. Guests flying in to the area land in Penticton airport or even Kelowna which is 123km or 2 hours driving distance from Osoyoos.

Besides its beauty and climate of hot dry summers and short mild winters, Osoyoos boasts the warmest lake and only desert in Canada. It's a popular destination for conferences and weddings as well as recreation.
