The Bad
Although the majority of the reviews used for this analysis were positive, some negative comments centred around noise levels and the hotel’s distance from downtown.

Although many guests commented that they had a quiet night’s stay, there were a few guests who were disappointed with the level of noise heard in their room due to the hotel’s proximity to a highway (beside the hotel) and to a pub (in the building). Some suggested finding a room that was not adjacent to either of these features in order to have a quieter stay. A couple of guests also voiced concerns about noise from guests' dogs, which are allowed on the first floor.

Despite many guests appreciating the hotel’s proximity to shopping and dining, some felt its location in North Nanaimo was too far from the downtown old quarter area (about a 20-minute drive). Many didn’t like that its location meant a car was required in order to reach the downtown core or either of the ferry terminals.
