Located about a 2-minute drive north of the Trans-Canada Highway in the neighbourhood of Langford, this hotel is popular with guests who seek accommodations that are slightly removed from the downtown area of Victoria. However, guests wanting to visit the downtown Victoria area (about a 15 minute drive) and some of the major attractions (the Inner Harbour, BC Whale Tours and the BC Maritime Museum are all just under a 20 minute drive away) will need access to a vehicle. Butchart Gardens is about a 20 minute drive from the hotel. Guests travelling by air will need about 40 minutes to travel the 31.8km between the hotel and Victoria International Airport (YYJ) (distances and driving time estimates: Google Maps).

Check-in is at 3:00pm, while check-out is at 12:00pm.

Confirmed with a front desk agent: WI FI and parking (call date: June 26, 2012).
The Good
Guest reviewers that had a positive experience at this hotel, of the reviews used for this analysis, said their experience was attributed to good service from staff and the convenience of the location for shopping, dining and close proximity to the highway.

Guests were impressed by service received by staff. They used words like "friendly", "helpful" and "courteous" to describe them.

Guests also commented favourably on the location of the hotel, and on the neighbourhood in which it was situated. Some guests felt that being slightly removed from the downtown area was more peaceful and more affordable. A few guests indicated that they liked the hotel's proximity to the highway. While a other few guests liked the convenience of being located nearby a number of big box stores.

Rooms were clean, comfortable and sizeable, according to a number of guests. Guests commented specifically on the size of the showers, and on the updated decor.

There were a few peripheral comments centring on things like views from rooms and friendly service and food selection at the on-site pub.
The Bad
Most of the comments used for this analysis were favourable, but there were a few common threads from complaints, including problems with noise and lack of cleaning in common areas.

For a few guests, noise was an issue, both from the street and from guests in neighbouring rooms. One guest said that their room was facing a warehouse that started work in the early morning, and they found the noise produced by that warehouse disruptive. Some guests were bothered by noisy heating and AC units.

A few guests commented on dirty common areas, like the pool area, and mentioned that the carpets in the common areas were worn.

While location was a positive factor for a number of guests, there were some that felt that the distance to travel to downtown, and to some of Victoria's main attractions was inconvenient.

There were a few additional complaints, centring on things like lack of towels at the pool and the temperature of the water in the pool, apparently being too warm.
