"There was the start of mold growing around the tub due to lack of caulking. Air conditioner very inadequate therefore uncomfortable temp in room all night. Appearance of hotel and room entrance showed lack of upkeep or upgrading. Clerk was very accommodating in helping with breakfast."

"I was pleasantly surprised with the overall presentation. the customer service was the best I have experienced in a long time. Im a frequent traveller and have had some horror stories. The room was clean and well layed out. The location, adjacent the Highway was very convient. I did not hear any road noise, selpt like a baby. The morning breakfast was very good. I must comment again, the service was outstanding. Perfect for traveller who is looking for clean afforable accommodation!"

"The room was clean, and the sheets smelled fresh, so we were satisfied. We were in town visiting family for two days and just needed a place to lay our head for the night. For a longer stay or time spent in the room, I might have looked elsewhere."

"My harrowing experience began at check-in. The manager was extremely intrusive in terms of his personal questions and was affronted when i didn't want to disclose my personal circumstances. This hotel is located on the highway and the room that i was booked into was (facing) on the highway 97. I requested to be located in another part of the hotel at check-in but my request was refused as the manager said that he had no kingsize bed rooms in that part of the hotel. Needless to say, my first night was excruciating due to the highway noise and the leaking toilet that ran all night. I tried to sleep but ws unsuccessful and I called the front desk around 3:30am but no-one answered. At 7:30am (that's when the front desk opens) i spoke to the same manager (Dave) and he was angry that i complained about the highway noise and the leaking toilet. He was extremely rude and raised his voice at me and said that there was nothing he could do and that it was extremely costly to him and expensive (to me) to move me. He also said that there were no rooms available. He said that if i canceled my stay, i would forfeit a night's rate. I also called howard johnson and spoke to supervisor liz. She called the manager and he said the smae thing to her. She also said that he said he didn't like the fact that this was the third time that he was being requested by 3 different parties to address the same issue. I requested the move and he moved me to a different room. That room was much better, however the toilet blocked up and when i called the front desk at around 3:30pm to fix it, the woman at the front desk said that i should unclog it using the hotel's plunger! I indicated that i didn't believe that it was my responsibility as a guest to fix it, rather it was the hotel's responsibility. She said that its the janitorial's staff's responsibility to unclog blocked toilets and that they hadn't alerted the hotel to any issues relating to blocked toilets. She put the phone down in my ear. I left for the afternoon expecting the issue to be resolved. But upon my return at around 7:00pm i discovered that the toilet was still blocked up. I called the front desk again and this time was greeted with extreme friendliness and efficiency by a guy by the name of steve. He came almost immediately to unclog the toilet. He was the one redeeming quality of this hotel. Its worth mentioining that at breakfast they ran out of jam and fruit and did not replenish their stock. Also patrons were treated like children and were rushed out of the breakfast room as there wasn't enough table and chairs to accommodate the guests.some guests were asked to wait outside and not to enter the breakfast area at all. The manager and his assistant watched the patrons like hawks which also quite uncomfortable.There was a patron who had their dog in their room. But i wasn't sure about the hotel's policy on pets. There was a strong odour of weed in the parking lot, but i'm not sure whether that can be attributed to this hotel or other neighbouring hotels/residences.Overall- I will not stay at this hotel again."

"Service was minimal - I found that in the several times I spoke with someone from the hotel on the phone, they really didn't know their stuff. No one wore a uniform or a name tag, the appearance of every staff member was very unprofessional... Blue jeans? Come on! Highway signage terrible. And worst of all, their was a bug in the bed!!! Admitedly it was not a bed bug, but a bug none-the-less that, in my opinion, house keeping should have noticed. We didn't stay and checked out immediately."
