The Super 8 Kamloops Cn is located on the south side of Hugh Allan Drive and just to the west of Pacific Way. The Trans Canada Highway, which turns into the Coquihalla Highway as motorists head way, is just to the north of the property (200m). Kamloops city centre is roughly 6.0km from the hotel while Aberdeen Mall is just over 1.0km away (driving distances - Google Maps).

Rooms at the two story hotel, which typically have either one queen bed or two queens, can be either smoking or non-smoking. Room amenities include air conditioning, free local calls, desks, reclining chairs, and self controlled heating/cooling systems. Room rates include free SuperStart continental breakfast, free parking, and free in-room high speed Internet.

The hotel does have a suite with one king bed and one queen bed that includes a full kitchen. The hotel is pet friendly with a non-refundable charge of $15 per pet.

Check in time at this hotel is at 3pm while check out time is at 11am.
The Good
Guests that stayed at the Super 8 Kamloops Cn gave the hotel mixed reviews. On the plus side of those reviews, many guests approved of their room rates and/or the location of the property.

Several guests that stayed at the hotel seemed to think that the property offered good value. Many guests implied that they liked the price with one guest, for example, calling his/her rate "reasonable." Another guest said that the hotel was "good value for the money" and there were virtually no complaints about the hotel being too expensive.

This hotel was also popular because of its location. Many guests appreciated being close to shopping and one guest specifically mentioned Aberdeen Mall. Some guests said that they liked being near to a Costco outlet and other guests indicated that they had no trouble finding restaurants.

The hotel received some other compliments. Multiple guests thought that the parking lot was big, some guests considered the beds to be comfortable, while other guests were happy to have their pets accommodated.

For the most part guests were pretty silent about the hotel's staff but they were described as friendly by some patrons.
The Bad
Guests that did not totally enjoy their stay at this hotel usually complained about an unwanted smell at the property and/or limited facilities.

Many guests said that their rooms or the hotel smelled of cigarette smoke. One guest said the place "reeked of smoke" and a couple other guests were fairly strong in asserting that they noticed the smell as well.

The facilities at the hotel were somewhat limited according to multiple guests. One guest, for example, mentioned that there was no fitness centre or pool while another guest was disappointed that there was no elevator. Many guests were also disappointed with the breakfast, which one guest called "skimpy."

Occasionally guests thought that the property seemed old as one guest called the hotel "tired" and another said it was "dated."

There were not tons of reviews available for this hotel however based on the limited reviews a lack of cleanliness seemed to be a bit of a problem at the property.

"Super 8 Rocks!"

"Easy to find, polite & friendly staff, decent room, no issues, TV worked, shower OK, enough towels, pet friendly!, close parking, close to stores & food, reasonably quiet, easy to book - what more do ya want for $110.00?? (3 people & a doggie). We'd go back for sure."

"A dreary, univiting place."

"At best it could be considered "minimalist". No bed bugs, a plus. Breakfast was skimpy. Pillows lumpy but mattress good."

"Simple, clean but the toilet ran."

"Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Toilet ran so you had to jiggle the handle or actually reach into the bowl and set the plug back into it's slot."

"I didn't stay at this hotel myself but my son and his girlfriend stayed here on their way back to Vancouver Island from Saskatchewan. I paid for their hotel room in advance although it was a royal pain in the you know what. They wouldn't take my credit card number and authorize payment for the room over the telephone. They had to fax me a special credit card authorization sheet on which I had to put in all the necessary information and fax back to them along with a copy of the front and back of my credit card. Since it was on a holiday I had to go into work to receive and resend the fax. When I sent the fax back, their fax line is the same line as their telephone line. The girl at the front desk would answer the fax call, determine it was a fax, hang up and direct the fax to the fax machine. It took 4 times and a telephone call before the fax was received. I have never run into anything like this before. It was sure an inconvenience for me and if I had the time, I would have looked elsewhere for my son and his girlfriend to stay. As far as their stay in the hotel went, I believe everything was okay as I didn't hear anything negative about it."

"We had our dog with us, and he's not a small dog!! Not only was he welcome to stay with us, he was made to feel very welcome. The night clerk thought Ryot was cute and so well behaved. The Super 8 in Kamloops is extremely quiet. We didn't hear any noise from the road in front, and we never heard any noises from the other guests! Our stay was very pleasant!!"
