Several guests complimented the hotel's staff in their reviews, characterizing them as friendly, helpful, polite and informative. These guests gave examples of the staff responding quickly and efficiently to any requests they had.
The cleanliness of the rooms was mentioned by many lodgers and was described as "spotlessly clean" in one such review. One guest who stayed in a room with a kitchenette remarked the dishes and utensils were all very clean as well.
Some reviewers were pleased with the location of the Sandman Inn in relation to the downtown area and restaurants. The location was described as "2 blocks from the main strip" by one of these reviewers.
The Bad
Negative reviews found for this analysis mentioned the hotel's bathrooms, beds, and age.
Some guests were disappointed with the size of the bathrooms and described them as very small and cramped. A few other guests had complaints that the sink was outside of the bathroom.
The beds were a source of discontent for some lodgers, who characterized them as uncomfortable and lumpy. However, it should be noted that the manager posted a comment in August 2012 which said all their mattresses had been replaced with pillow-top mattresses.
A few reviewers mentioned of the hotel's age and that the property was in need of a makeover. Dirty hallways with stained carpet were cited, as well as the fact that the hotel didn't have an elevator in its main building (the manager stated this was the norm when the hotel was built). A few guests were upset they had to carry their own luggage up to the 2nd and 3rd floor.
