Many guests complimented the hotel on the cleanliness of its large rooms, and described them as "amazingly clean". The maids were also specifically complimented by a few of these guests.

Many patrons took issue with the condition of the hotel and its furnishings, describing them as rundown and in need of an upgrade. Specifically, several reviewers described the beds and mattresses as old and hard, the linens as stained and worn, and the appliances in disrepair.
Some guests found their air-conditioning units to be very loud and old, and disruptive to their sleep. A few guests described not being able to use their air-conditioning at night because of its loud noise.
Some lodgers complained of odours in the hotel and in their rooms. Most notably, the smell of stale cigarette smoke was mentioned by some. Musty smells were also described by a few guests.
