The Good
Guest reviews, of those used for this analysis, were quite mixed but showed a positive response to the hotel's location and cost.

Several guests were pleased with the hotel's location and said it provided easy access to the highway and was close to many restaurants and downtown. It was also considered a decent stopover hotel by some, and a few patrons mentioned the hotel was very quiet.

The price was an advantage to many reviewers who considered that they had obtained a place to rest their heads for a decent price.

The Bad
There were a lot of complaints for this older property and its service from guests who had stayed. Complaints were varied and gave the overall impression that the hotel was not all that professionally kept or run.

Some guests were disappointed with the indoor pool and described it as being cold, dirty, or closed to guests, while some mentioned that they found the indoor pool covered and had to remove it themselves. A few guests also reported problems with the hot tub including a sulfur smell and another said too many chemicals

Rooms were described as shabby by a few patrons. Some examples given included an old and dirty carpet which the guest thought had never been cleaned, a musty smell, cigarette odours, a broken lock, missing baseboards, shabby towels, uncomfortably hard beds, sheets that were not fitted and limited cable channels. One guest said he was given a room that was in the process of being renovated and more than one complained of fixtures that were missing or not working.

Some guests said the breakfast was too minimal with muffins sliced in half, toast and coffee.

Although some guests reported generally clean rooms, there were a large contingent of guests who reported poor housekeeping. One person who stayed for a month said the room was clean upon arrival but wasn't kept up during the stay. Others detailed beds, bathrooms and carpets that were dirty. Some others complained of not having enough towels.

Noise was an issue for a small number of reviewers who noted the Trans-Canada Highway nearby and a busy rail line (about a 3-minute walk from the hotel).

A few guests mentioned the language barrier with front desk agents which gave difficulty to both guests and staff.

Lastly, and possibly most importantly, four reviewers reported finding bed bugs in their beds, two in Oct 2014 and one in February and one in April 2015.
