Located about an 8-minute walk from Invermere's city centre and a 5-minute drive from the nearest Highway 95 on-ramp, The Canterbury Inn (formerly the Mountain View Lodge Invermere) is suitable for road travellers who require a pet-friendly and centrally located hotel with extended kitchen amenities and easy highway access.

Each of the hotel's air-conditioned guest rooms offers free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a mini-fridge, a coffeemaker, a mountain view and a desk. Rooms with a kitchen, a dining area, a seating area and three double beds are also available upon request. The hotel is not wheelchair accessible.

The hotel also offers 24-hour front desk service, ski storage and free parking. Pets are permitted free of charge depending on the availability of pet-friendly rooms.

College of the Rockies is about a 3-minute drive from the hotel, while Copper Point Golf Course can be found 6 minutes away by car. Many guests were pleased with the level of customer service they received during their stay, and characterized the staff as friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. One patron noted, "Front desk manager was very friendly and honest, explaining how the hotel was transitioning. Their efforts are successful". 

The hotel's location was praised by numerous lodgers. They found the hotel close to downtown, shopping, restaurants, the beach, galleries and Panorama Mountain Village.

Several reviewers enjoyed their accommodations at the hotel. They described their lodgings as clean, updated and quiet, with beautiful mountain views and comfortable beds and linens. Some travellers had complaints about their rooms, however (see below).
The Bad
While the majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were a few common complaints about the hotel's rooms and noise transfer.

Although several guests enjoyed their rooms, some reviewers criticized their accommodations. They reported musty odours, uncomfortable beds, dated decor, worn carpets and small bathrooms.
