OverviewThe Travelodge Golden hotel is located on the west side of 10th Avenue South between 9th Street South and 10th Street South in Golden, British Columbia. Glacier National Park is about 60km away from the property while Yoho National Park is about 28km away (driving distances: Google Maps).
The hotel has an outdoor hot tub open year round and the property offers guests several amenities. Those include free in-room high speed wireless Internet, complimentary continental breakfast, free local phone calls, and free parking.
Common room amenities include either one or two queen beds, coffee makers, and hair dryers. No room at the property is meant to accommodate more than four guests. Most rooms at the non-pet friendly hotel are non-smoking however some rooms accommodate smoking guests.

The GoodGuests who stayed at this hotel rarely reviewed the hotel positively. However, some guests were happy with the price while others appreciated the hotel's location.
Guests that were happy with the price seemed to think that the hotel was an "economical" choice. One guest thought the price was the "best in town" while another guest said the hotel "was good value for the money." The "low price" that the hotel offered seemed to be the hotel's major strength.
Some guests also liked the location of the hotel which was fairly central in Golden. Guests said they were able to find nearby restaurants, shopping, groceries, and nightlife. Occasionally guests mentioned that a liquor store was situated very close to the hotel.
The Bad
Guests were critical of several areas of this hotel. Among other problems, numerous guests thought the hotel was old, in need of maintenance, or dirty.
Many guests who stayed at this hotel felt that the property did not live up to Travelodge standards. One guest said his room "needed a good cleaning," another guest called his room "filthy," while another said her room was "disgusting." Other room complaints mentioned room appointments as a few guests were unhappy about not having a microwave or fridge.
Several guests called this hotel old and the general impression of the building was that it was certainly not as beautiful as some hotels in Golden. One of the many adamant guests said he/she was "so displeased" that he/she was "contacting the chain to let them know how poorly this hotel was maintained and kept.”
Other concerns over the property referenced noise. People didn't always pinpoint the source but one guest mentioned creaking floors.
While there were guests who liked the hotel's price, there were some that claimed it was not worth the price they paid. The "sugary" continental breakfast didn't change many minds either as it was called "unappetizing" or "a total joke."
