The Good
Reviews read for this report were mostly positive. Although the hotel was older and offered basic amenities, guests were typically pleased with the free hot breakfast, the rooms, the staff's service and the reasonable room rates.

Guests usually found the rooms to be clean, with comfortable beds and adequate for the price they paid

The staff received compliments from many guests and were often referred to as friendly and accommodating.

Some guests felt the location was both easy to find and conveniently located near restaurants, downtown and a shopping mall.

Many guests complimented the free breakfast, which included eggo waffles, scrambled eggs, has browns, sausages, toast, fresh fruit and cereal.

The restaurant was also commended for its food, pricing and stand-up comedy show. Some guests found the pool area to be clean and enjoyable. Overall, guests felt these amenities added to the value of their stay.
The Bad
Guests offered negative feedback in the reviews which centred on a few common themes.

Many guests felt the hotel was old and outdated. Complaints in this regard included lumpy, uncomfortable beds, mould on the ceiling, hot tub tiles sharp and unsafe, jets in hot tub did not work, small and hard pool towels, stale or musty odour in hallways and in the hotel overall, and a chipped sink and bath tub in a guest room.

Hotel amenities were very basic. Some guests noted that the building lacked an elevator, had many confusing stairways and lacked a grassy area for dogs. Some guests did not like the pool; they said it was boring, too cold, outdated and in the basement in a dark setting.

Occasionally, guests complained of poor staff service. One guest claimed that the front desk staff would not assist in providing an extra cot, when they had also called ahead. A couple of guests also complained that the staff were not knowledgeable, either of when the pool was open and about the area surrounding the hotel.

A few guests complained of noise disturbance. They cited traffic noise, large trucks, noisy guests and AC units.

Some guests reported that the location and Cranbrook itself was not a pretty place.
