The Vedder River Inn is my budget pick for Chilliwack. It has lower rates and high guest approval and is about a 10-minute drive to Chilliwack's city centre and municipal airport. It's conveniently located on Vedder Road amid a wide selection of restaurants and pubs, the closest being a minute's walk away.

Guests say the hotel was fixed up a few years ago (before 2014) and is nice and clean and quiet. Other pleasures at the hotel, according to guest reviewers, are amazingly comfortable beds, large new showers and very nice staff.

Rooms come with flat screen TVs with premium cable and mini-fridges. Kitchens, soaker tubs, clothes washer and dryer are available in some rooms. This hotel also provides fish freezing services along with a guest laundry and business centre.

Guests should note that there's no elevator at the Inn to access the second floor.

Freebies include: Wi-Fi, grab-and-go breakfast weekends/holidays (muffins, yogurt, drinks), coffee each morning, local calls and parking.

I really like this modern, full-service hotel. It has very affordable rates and offers excellent value for the dollar! The Coast hotel is about a 3-minute drive to the city centre and only 4 minutes to the municipal airport. There's a Panago Pizza and Starbucks next door, and their on-site restaurant, Prestons and Ginkgo features Euro-Asian inspired cuisine.

Guests online have given it very high scores. They liked the great staff who go out of their way to please guests, the well-appointed rooms, the views of mountains, ducks in the pond and the city lights, the location of the hotel for being close to restaurants and shopping, the quiet surrounding area and the excellent value received. Others enjoyed the pool, hot tub and restaurant. Freebies include: Wi-Fi, parking, local calls and newspapers.
