Burnaby has an interesting mix of hotels. They are either high achievers or on the lower side when it comes to guest ratings, with nothing much in between. I picked highly-rated hotels offering good value for Burnaby, and considered a number of comparatives including room rates, amenities on site and nearby and the all-important guest opinion.

Modern hotel near to restaurants in downtown Burnaby with good rates and outdoor pool
The Best Western definitely comes out a winner in my analysis for value. It's the most reasonably priced hotel in Burnaby, of those with higher guest ratings. Guests liked this hotel for it's location close to restaurants, shopping and public transit, for its very hospitable and accommodating staff and for its generous and delicious free hot breakfast.

There is free Wi-Fi in all the guest rooms, which feature mini-fridges, as well as all the usually expected room amenities, adding value to guests who are travelling with young children or who like to eat in occasionally to save on costs. There are suites available featuring separate bedrooms and full kitchens for guests looking to stay for an extended time, or those wishing to have more of the comforts of home. Guests will also appreciate having free parking right on site, a business centre for catching up on work and a guest laundry, perfect for families and extended stays.

Guests can enjoy the summer days with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, and are given free passes to the Steve Nash Fitness Club, a newly renovated facility across the street featuring an indoor pool, sauna, hot tub and steam room along with state-of-the-art equipment and free consultations.

For dining, the hotel has an on-site restaurant which serves good Chinese food and makes an excellent and well-liked free hot breakfast, of which many guests have spoken highly. Guest reviewers have enjoyed the waffles, pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. The BluEmber Grillhouse offers another choice next door and there is a large number of restaurants within a 5-minute walk in the neighbouring vicinity.
