"very dirty run down"
"Our fridge froze all our food. No one took care of it though we went to front desk numerous times. Had to use a face cloth as a bath tub stopper. They had no extra tub plugs. No elevator so luggage hauled 2 floors up stairs. Garbage laying on ground for the full 3 days we were there. No staff for cleaning. No internet for most of the first evening. We will never go back to this hotel."

"They should have shut the place down for renovations."
"When we got there at 9.30pm it was like walking into a building site!! The carpet in the hall and rooms was really old and dirty. The front desk lady the next morning was lovely."

"Super 8 North Red Deer"
"My stay was good for the value. the room was clean, continental breakfast was good and good food nearby. I think people living there and doing shift work, they come and go all hours, renovators doing putty work next door at 10 o'clock at night, but I would stay there again, I felt safe and the free wi fi was good."

"Picked the wrong one!"
"There are two Super 8's in Red Deer and I unfortunately chose the one that is farther down Gaetz Ave, next to a liquor store and caters mostly to out of town workers. It is undergoing renovations, and still needs alot of work on its shabby appearance. The room was cold, and the remote for the tv did not work properly. The continental breakfast was better than expected, but the area could use more frequent clean-ups."

"We stayed here for a one night's stay for a girl's volleyball tournament. We found this hotel very poor and would not recommend it to others. We found out there is another Super 8 hotel in Red Deer that is quite a bit newer, but the reservations were not transferrable. At one point we even thought of staying in the car overnight. It was a very bad experience!"

"I booked a king size bed and at check in was told only 1 king left but room wasn't clean and the cleaners had gone home.They stuck me and my wife in a queen but was more like a twin.The hallway smelt like urine (but was probably bleach). The breakfast was a bagel or dry cereal."

"the night clerk was a meth-head, crack addict that stunk, needed to wash his hair, brush his teeth and stop picking the meth-pocs of his skin. the nite manager was a creep and NOT a great first impression.....and he answered the hotels phone with "hello, this is Wal-mart". sorry but your hotel chain needs to hire proffesionals not junkies!! i will never stay at your hotel again."

"The motel was old, and the heat didn't work in the room. The water would fluctuate between hot and cold. The walls were paper thin. I will never stay at another super 8. This experience will make me stay at a Best Western or Travelodge. Thanks for nothing Super 8."

"We were very disappointed in the condition of the room given the price we paid. Upon arrival, (late evening) the room (a non-smoking room) smelled like marijuanna smoke, and the beds were not at all comfortable. Had it not been so late, we would have asked for our money back and sought another hotel. When I complained the next morning, all the front desk clerk would say was that she wasn't surprised that the room smelled like that! There was no offer to rebate or discount the cost of the room, which I found to be in very very bad form. This was not an experience that would make me likely to stay at a Super 8 Hotel again in the futre!"

"If it weren't for the staff our stay would have been a complete write off! The Red Deer operation definately needs extensive renovations to bring it up to minimum standards!"
