Located just off Highway 16A in Jasper National Park, a 5-minute drive to the Jasper town centre, the Tonquin Inn is suited for travellers who desire a hotel close to town, with kitchenettes, an indoor pool, hot tubs, and restaurant.

This hotel has 137 air-conditioned, 100% smoke-free guest rooms and suites, each offering free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a mini-fridge, a coffeemaker, a desk, a table and chairs and a hair dryer. Microwaves are supplied on request. All rooms offer one or two queen beds, one king bed or two double beds.

Various suites offer additional amenities such as separated bedrooms, a wood-burning fireplace, a sunken living room, a microwave, a balcony, a private in-room sauna, a full kitchen and/or a sitting area with a sofabed. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available upon request.

Hotel amenities include an indoor pool, two outdoor hot tubs, three saunas, a fitness centre, an elevator, guest laundry facilities and free parking. On-site dining is available at Tonquin Prime Rib Village, which serves breakfast and dinner daily. A free shuttle from the train station is available and travel can be arranged by phoning the front desk.

The Good
The majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, with praise going to the hotel's location, rooms and value.

Many guests praised the hotel's location. They found it to be easily accessible, as well as close to restaurants and shops of Jasper, the highway, gas stations, skiing and Athabasca Falls.

The hotel's accommodations were complimented by numerous lodgers. They described their rooms as clean, well equipped, modern and cozy, with comfortable beds and linens, great mountain views and fast Wi-Fi signals. It should be noted, however, that some guests were disappointed with their rooms (see below).

Several reviewers felt the hotel provided good value, and described the rates as affordable and fair.

A few guests complained about the hotel parking. They described it as sometimes limited on the weekends and reported not being able to find a spot at night and having to park on the street. 

Noise transfer was mentioned by a few guests. They reported traffic noise, noise from loud guests using the outdoor hot tubs at night and noisy in-room air conditioning units.
