Located about an 8-minute drive from the nearest Trans-Canada Highway on-ramp and a 2-minute drive from Jasper Tramway, HI-Jasper is geared towards travellers who require hostel accommodations with free wired Internet and easy access to the highway and public transit.

This smoke-free hostel offers private rooms, a female-only dorm and a co-ed dorm. In-room amenities include free Wi-Fi and a shared or private bathroom. The hostel is not wheelchair accessible. It does not permit pets.

Hotel amenities include a common kitchen, BBQ facilities, computer stations, a TV room, guest laundry, a library, luggage/bicycle storage and free parking. 

Jasper's city centre is about a 14-minute drive from the hotel, while Jasper Yellowhead Museum & Archives can be found 13 minutes away by car. The hotel's staff were the source of many compliments by reviewers, who found them friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions. One patron remarked, "The staff is superbly helpful and welcoming. :) It is worth mentioning that I forgot my camera charger and I realized this when I was in Edmonton already. They were so kind to send it over, understanding the urgency, and didn't even charge me for it".
