Many guests found the location central and convenient for accessing shopping, dining, and entertainment on Whyte Avenue. Several reviewers mentioned that they enjoyed being able to walk to restaurants and one guest said that the location of this property was "where you want to be". A couple of other reviews also stated that they were able to walk to the University of Alberta in about 20 minutes. 

The rooms were frequently described as clean and one guest said that her room was "cleaned to perfection every day". A couple of reviewers thought that their rooms were well-appointed with modern furniture, while several guests specifically mentioned that their beds, pillows, and linens were comfortable.

The staff were described as friendly and efficient by several reviewers. A few guests said that the front desk agents accommodated their early check-ins and/or late check-outs without charging extra fees. One reviewer complimented the staff for allowing him to valet park two vehicles for free.

The breakfast was praised by several guests for being well-stocked and for serving good quality coffee. One guest described the free breakfast as "wonderful".

Other compliments included: good quality complimentary bath products in the guest rooms, reasonable room rates, and the added value of the free evening wine tastings and free valet parking. There were few negative reviews found for this hotel, of the reviews used for this analysis. However, there were a couple of common concerns.

Some guests thought that the hotel could use minor upgrades. The areas mentioned as needing improvement included: old-style televisions, scuffed hallways and elevators, and furniture that was beginning to show some wear and tear. A couple of reviewers also suggested updating the in-room climate control as they had difficulty maintaining a comfortable in-room temperature.

Several reviewers thought that in-room soundproofing could be improved. A few guests were disturbed in their rooms by street traffic and loud patrons from nearby pubs. A couple other reviewers found sounds from neighbouring rooms to be disruptive.  

Some reviewers thought that the guest rooms and the closets were too small.
