Overview
This historic property offers a luxury stay with beautiful views of the North Saskatchewan River, a 7-minute walk from the city centre.

The hotel offers 198 smoke-free rooms on 8 floors. All rooms include Wi-Fi ($14.65 per 24 hours for all non-Club members), a flat screen HDTV with pay-per-view movies, a Keurig coffeemaker, a tea kettle, a desk, iPod docks, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, bathrobes, windows that open and climate control. Mini-fridges, microwaves and DVD players are available on request at an extra charge.

Rooms are furnished with 2 double beds, 2 queen beds and 1 or 2 king beds. Room extras include a sofabed, a separate bedroom, a parlour and river valley views.

Self-parking is available on site for $35 and valet parking is available for $45 per night. Pets are welcome for $25 per pet, per night.

The Harvest Room serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily and afternoon high tea (with historic tour) weekends. The Confederation Lounge offers casual dining and seasonal patio, with views of the river and garden, for lunch and dinner. Room service is available 24 hours.

Hotel amenities include an indoor pool, a hot tub, a 24-hour fitness centre, a steam room, a squash court, massage services, a 24-hour business centre, dry cleaning, concierge, a gift shop, babysitting services, elevators, free newspapers and meeting rooms.

Jasper Avenue’s dining and entertainment district and the Shaw Conference Centre (exhibitions and concerts) are a 4-minute walk from the hotel. Edmonton City Centre (mall) is 7 minutes away on foot. The Good
Guests enjoyed this hotel and gave it lots of high scores.

It had an excellent location, right off Jasper Avenue restaurants, near to transit, downtown attractions and shopping.

The historic character of the hotel and the cleanliness of the rooms was another highlight. Some found comfy beds in spacious rooms and many loved the river valley views from the rooms and hotel’s restaurants.

Staff were amenable and guests often really liked the bar and restaurant staff.

The dining and breakfast onsite was typically well liked. Guests commented about room service being good as well.

Guests also enjoyed the gym, steam room, squash courts and indoor pool on site.

Guest complaints centred on a few hiccups encountered during their stay.

Some guests found minor maintenance issues in their rooms which detracted from their stay.

A few complained of hearing their neighbours, guests in hallways, the elevator and street noise.

Some considered the hotel a little dated and said it was time for a refresh.

Extra charges were a common complaint, with guests being offended at the extra charge for Wi-Fi and high cost of parking at the hotel.

Some felt the cost of the rooms and dining on site was expensive.
