The Good
This hotel was very well liked by its guests.

It offered tastefully decorated and spacious rooms that were very well cleaned and had all the amenities of a home with separated bedrooms for privacy—some with their own bathrooms, a very clean and well-stocked kitchen, TVs in the bedrooms as well as the living room and even a washer and dryer.

It was well located—an easy walk to transit, restaurants, groceries, shopping and the river trail for those who wanted some green space or had brought along their dogs.

The staff made a difference. They were very amenable and guests felt welcomed and well looked after.

Many felt it was a good value and wanted to return.

Adding value to the stay for some guests were: secure and heated underground parking, the suites were big enough to entertain, there was a supermarket conveniently located next door, and the High Level Streetcar could be caught next to the hotel bringing guests to the parks by the river and the trendy Old Strathcona area.

The Bad
Not much was said of a negative nature.

One guest mentioned that the outdoor parking lot was a little ways away and that it was a little awkward to load and unload luggage as the front of the hotel was in a tow-away zone. Guests with trucks or larger vehicles found the underground parking a little tight.

Noise was a mild concern. The building is older and some guests found noise disturbances from the sounds of pipes, baseboard heaters and the HVAC system. Occasionally a guest mentioned being able to hear traffic in rooms that faced Jasper Avenue, but some said that raising the volume of the TV or simply closing the windows rectified this.
