The GoodGuests that stayed at this hotel had very mixed opinions about the property. The hotel's main strength appeared to be its location.
Guests that were happy with the hotel's location typically referenced the property's proximity to shopping. Many guests mentioned that West Edmonton Mall was easily accessible from the hotel by car.
Other benefits of staying at this property were not too clear. Some guests were served by "friendly" staff but there was some balance on this perspective. Also, some guests said that their rooms were "clean and the beds were comfortable" but again, the hotel did not appear to be consistent in meeting these expectations.
The Bad
Guest complaints for this property were quite numerous as the hotel appeared to be below guest expectations from several points of view.
Numerous guests were disappointed with their rooms and a lack of cleanliness was a problem. Some guests simply felt that their rooms were dirty or "dingy" while others described dirty items like the bathtub, comforter, carpet, or bed sheets.
There were also many complaints about broken items in guest rooms or at least items that weren't working perfectly. Some guests said that the television was fuzzy but most guests who complained about something not working properly mentioned the in-room heater. According to one guest the room heater didn't "turn off or turn down at all."
Guests who offered their opinions on the condition of the hotel felt that the property was on the older side. Some guests said the property was "outdated" while others recommended upgrades or refurbishing. One guest called the hotel "a dive" and compared the property to another hotel chain, one that is typically held in lower regard than the Best Western Plus brand.
There were many peripheral concerns as well. Occasionally guests complained that they did not get the room that they thought they had booked, the smell of cigarette smoke was also a problem, and multiple guests had difficulty negotiating their way through an icy and snowy parking lot in the winter.
