Tips For Staying In Drumheller

What to do in Drumheller?

The town of Drumheller is located about 105km (1.5 hours) northeast of Calgary, in the Red Deer River Valley, nicknamed the Dinosaur Valley perhaps for its 86 foot high dinosaur on Hwy 9 and maybe because it houses one of the world's largest collections of dinosaurs.

The Royal Tyrrell Museum, devoted strictly to palaeontology, is a main attraction of the town boasting 375,000 visitors a year.

Children of all ages are invited to climb the giant T-Rex, the world's largest dinosaur and view the badlands from within its large open jaws.

Besides dinosaurs and their bones, visitors can take in live theatre, visit Atlas Coal Mine, the Drumheller Hoodoos- sandstone pillars, galleries, museums, a water park, a naskart park and golf courses.

Other attractions are the Star Mine Suspension Bridge, Reptile World and Midland Provincial Park.
